@Caaareful Shopper I find it difficult to do blend more than one shade w/ a powder foundation. Kudos to @SilleeMee. With a foundation stick, cream or liquid, use a more fluffy synthetic brush, not tightly packed foundation brush. Keep the lighter color (one shade lighter than complexion) on & around nose, upper lip, chin and cheeks about 2 fingers away from nose or gauge by going w/ lighter shade to under the pupil of eye. The foundation that matches your complexion goes everywhere else. Blend the lines lightly keeping the center of your face lighter/brighter. It's highlighting and contouring, but naturally w/ foundation...no streaks of dark colors on cheeks.

Now retired, I only wear foundation OCCATIONALLY if I leave the house. Pretty much I just use sunscreen when home. If I do wear foundation, it is just a BB tinted cream or something very light. No heavy foundations for me.

I use (2). Urban Decay Stay Naked and Fenty. I am extremely happy with these 2 and I really seen no need to venture out to try anything different. Both are buildable and work great with a sponge or a brush.

So funny because I was just thinking the same thing about Bare Minerals--which I'm currently using--and then I saw your comment. It always get on my countertop! Lately I've been putting down a paper towel first and then using it to wipe off the mess I make.
I am tired of it but I do love not having that liquid goo on my face. Bare Minerals just feels so much better to me but maybe it's time for a change.

I have a few I use. When some of them are finished, I will not repurchase that brand and trying to pare down to using no more than 3. Right now I wear the ones I like the least on days I'm staying home.

I have used one foundation regularly the past year, it's the Shiseido SPF 50 BB cream in the 1 oz. bottle. But I have to mix the light and medium shades together to get the right shade for me so that's what I did. I've gone through one bottle and I'm working on the 2nd bottle of this BB cream.
I also try other foundations and tinted moisturizers though like a tube of tinted moisturizer with SPF 20 from Marcelle, a dropper serum foundation with SPF 20 from Marcelle, and a tube of L'Oreal radiant serum foundation with SPF 50. None measure up to the Shiseido BB cream though.
