Re: Do You Use An Eye Shadow Base?

I have slightly hooded eyes, so everything meshes into one if I don't prime my eyes. Stephanie Nicole on YT (she's top 3 fave YT'er for me!) had an awesome rec for use of a lighter or shimmer or metallic shade on the lid....... Use eye primer (I have several), and then apply your transition, crease, and/or outer corner colors and blend. Then apply a small amount of GLITTER primer to only the lid area where you want your shimmer or lighter color, patting it on, then blending the edges. Works like a charm. It adds about a minute to my routine, if that, but totally worth it!! NYX & TF both make great glitter primers, but are hard to find. NYX I found at a newly opened Ulta that hadn't yet been picked over, and TF I found in a JCP Sephora. HTH!

Re: Do You Use An Eye Shadow Base?

I tried using urban decay's eye primer but it sucked ALL of the moisture out of my eyelids and then some! my eyelids were actually flaking they were so dry - and just after about a week of use. I've tried LG's - it was fine but I don't see much difference between using that and regular concealer or foundation as a primer, so that's what I do.

@ECBG. No, I wasn't aware she had one for eyes! I've used her regular sparkle and I like it. I'll give the other a try!

@ImadickensWhen I can't get it here, and Q doesn't seem to have it right now,  Ulta carried it!

It's Eye LID Spackle in a tiny tube not to be mistaken for the UNDER EYE Spackle.  I have used her light eye spackle pens that have a brush, but I much prefer the tube because it's clear.  Your shadows will be true in color and not "pale out".

I love this & can be used under your eye to help concealer last longer, too. Feels very soothing:

I have oily lids and sensitive skin. TooFaced is the only one that works for me. UD makes my eyes tear and LG creases.

Good luck. I got my Too Faced from hsn. No tax and free shipping.

Good luck!

I use Perricone No Eyeshadow Eyeshadow which has no color and is the best primer.  It smooths the eyelid and never any crease no matter what eueshadow I use.  A bottle also lasts a long time.

Oh I have to use an eyelid primer! My skin has always been so oily. I discovered Urban Decay Primer Potion many years ago and cannot live a day without it! My eyeshadow stays on like iron! Love it!

Re: Do You Use An Eye Shadow Base?

I go back and forth between my MAC Painterly paint po and MAC 24 hour eye base. I use the 24 hr eye base when I know I want my eyeshadow to last at least 12 hours. I set both of these with my NYC setting powder.

Re: Do You Use An Eye Shadow Base?

No eyeshadow base. My shadow stays on, but my lids have gotten darker (veins) w/age. I apply BB white or ivory shadow as a base color all over up to brow bone. This makes all other shadows appear their true colors & also stay on.
