Do You Own a Gxve Dewy Plump Lip Gel?

I can't decide if I want to return it or not.  It's very thick and cushy.  I like that part.  What I don't like is the smell.  It's a cooked grain/rice fragrance with a hint (very small hint) of vanilla.  It doesn't smell "rancid" but I'm wondering if it's normal.

Thanks

Sephora Community (one person) says it smells like cake batter like all her other products.  I'm not getting that but it's not rancid either.  Even tho I'm not crazy about the smell, I like the product enough to keep it.

I would think the gel-lke consistency would throw me off a bit.  It's thicker than oil correct?  So does it stay on better?

Yes, @JudyL, it is staying on longer.  I wouldn't describe this as as gel.  It's super thick and bouncy but not goopy.  I'm not getting the "strings" you can sometimes get with lipgloss.  This is different than any other gloss I've worn.  I'd get another color but they're all sold out and I need another gloss like a hole in my head.  The order was a mistake.  I thought I was buying her liquid blush for my granddaughter.

I asked my husband to smell this lip gloss and told him it was supposed to smell like cake. He said it smelled like cake to him. I guess my convoluted nose strikes again.

@monicakm have you had Covid?  After I lost my sense of smell from Covid, as it came back things smelled differently.  I specifically remember onions.  I just couldn't handle raw onions at all.  I threw away a perfectly good fresh onion it smelled so bad.  Over time, my normal sense of smell came back, but I've heard some people say theirs never did come back the same.  It wasn't all odors, just some specific ones.

Yes, I did have Covid in 2020 and yes, it has affected my sense of smell.  I lost it completely but it's back probably close to 100% BUT it's skewed.  I'm not sure to what degree unless it's something I know from pre-Covid.  I told my husband what it's supposed to smell like and let him smell it.  He agreed that it smelled like vanilla cake batter.  So, it's me, not the product.  It's funny how it affects people differently.  My husband says all his taste and smell came back.  My SIL still can't taste anything except sweets.  It took a long time for my taste to come back.

@monicakm I didn't lose my taste, although taste is tied to smell.

BTW, how do you pronounce Gxve?  I know it's Gwen Stefani's line.
