@Jordan2 Great idea for a post ! I used to watch unboxing videos, but then I found that I was purchasing makeup colors that wouldn't work on me because I was persuaded by the unboxing videos.

First it was newspaper then it was TV and now it's YouTube/ social media. It's just the progression of commerce and ads. Aren't we glad there's something for everyone.

I wouldn't watch just anyone do an unboxing of beauty products. It would have to be a beauty vlogger that I enjoy. I used to watch Tech unboxings from my favorite tech YouTubers or if I was in the market and looking for information about a product. Marcus Brownlee and Casey Neistat were my favorites. Smart home technology used to be my "makeup".

If this is about YouTube unboxing. I really enjoy TrueWants . She is a mature lady so not all that screaming at you. She purchases most of her boxes she gets don’t promo but she tells you what she things. I don’t feel like she’s scamming.

I do enjoy watching the unboxing of subscriptions. It lets me know whats being sent out. It also makes me aware of what subscriptions are avaikabe and pricing.

Those who think of them as a " money grab" well hate to break it to ya but YouTube influencers arent doing it just to do it.

I have seen pleanty of transparent reviews from subscriptions they pay for themselves. If they have a high enough volume if watchers, they are getting paid from YT not the makeup companies.

I used to watch when I subscribed to Ipsy. I did watch two the other night when Westmore was the TSV. I canceled my order after watching and also reading the reviews on Amazon.
