Jordan, that's okay, I mix stuff up constantly!

SAM, I think the Walmart box is totally worth it too. One thing though. Did anyone get a defective deodorant? Mine didn't rise when turned (and I use stick so I know how to do it). It eventually backed out from the bottom and now I can't use it at all, wanted to try it, too. Oh well, not the end of the world. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin} Not sure when the next box will be here but can't wait.

I still get IPSY but cancelled Blush. Blush just sent stuff I'd never use, although it's a good deal if you do, and the last time was the last straw.

I cancelled my Ipsy box after receiving just one. I am waiting for the Allure (I think it's Sample Society)Box. It is $15 but I was sent a promo for $5 off the first box. It says you can cancel at any time so if I don't like it I'll only be out $10. If I don't care for this one either I'm done with all these beauty boxes!

Re: Disappointing Beauty Box

Jordan, you'll have to let us know how the Sample Society box is. I keep saying no to trying any more boxes, just too hard to stop. Always afraid the next one after I cancel will have me regretting cancelling.

i bought the ipsy one when it was called something else (cant even remember the name). i kept it up for 6 months and then i gave it up.....there were times that the only thing i liked were the bags. i wasnt impressed.

the only one i have really liked was the beauty tube that is sold on qvc and via their own site, but that one is a lot more expensive. it did have some nice full sized products though. i even gave that one up though, but they keep sending me emails now to join again and get 10 dollars off of my first tube.

Sounds like me sunshine. I love the Q Beauty Test Tube...the one from the Beauty Test Tube site was a downer...it included drug store brands. I prefer the Q's. I took Ipsey for about 6 months and wasn't impressed and cancelled.

Re: Disappointing Beauty Box

Desi, yesterday I received my Allure Sample Society box. It came with a sample vial ( like the kind of sample you get from Sephora) of Dahlia Divin Givenchy fragrance. Alterna Caviar Repairx Re-Texturizing Protein Cream 1.35 oz, Tarte Brazilliance Self Tanning Face Towelettes(3), Restorsea Revitalizing Eye Cream 0.5 oz, and Lorac Porefection face primer (deluxe sample size). The boxes sell for $15 but I had a promo code for $5 off. Maybe my expectations are too high but I'm not thrilled with the 2 boxes I subscribed to. I already cancelled the Ipsy box and might cancel this one too.

Re: Disappointing Beauty Box

Glad I saw this thread..I was *just* about to sign up for Ipsy. Not anymore. I need to be more careful with my money as it is and just put it toward products I already know I love.

Re: Disappointing Beauty Box

Jordan, thanks so much for reporting back! I would be disappointed too although I am sure it's worth a bunch of money between the Alterna and the eye-cream. I think the excitement is really in the anticipation - I've rarely been super excited after opening any of them. Really it's hit or miss, they can't possibly know what each of us would want - unless we specify which some sites allow.

Re: Disappointing Beauty Box

I'm minimizing so I don't have so much stuff taking up space. I stopped getting "beauty boxes" years ago, and I'm finally pitching stuff I never used. I like saving a little pot of money to buy one special item at a time from a B&M store. I'm lucky to have stores like Sephora, Ulta and L'Occitane nearby.

Re: Disappointing Beauty Box

I only got one -- a one-time -- from the Q and I think it was really a great sampling of things I've seen but haven't gotten. Bye Bye Undereye, Wen, Purity Made Simple, Amazing Grace shower stuff, Mally mascara -- maybe one or two more.

I think I scored because it WAS a single purchase, and I was curious about some of the products. Not sure I'd sign up for multiple mailings, though. Or maybe I did and just didn't realize it!!

It's a great concept when you get some items you'd like to try anyway, too bad that so many are disappointing.

Re: Disappointing Beauty Box

I just received my second Sample Society Beauty Box and have cancelled my subscription. I have come to the conclusion they're not worth the money. They give 5 products that amount to what you would get from Sephora as a free sample. Never again I've finally got the message!
