Desperate for a good Hair Color !!

I have used Clairol Loving Care for years....was perfect ! Now it is Gone!! What in the world to use instead. Have not read good reviews on any other . Am medium brown, most others say they are too dark, etc etc. Do not want a permanant color so the roots grow out. Please does anyone have good luck with anything else???
