I guess this has been commented on in the past---but just for an up to date idea----what brands do you think are the best in dept. store/drug store brands---love, use, buy? I am a senior---used Dr. Denese for years, retired and scaled back my spending---went to Clinique. I am not completely impressed---just ok---I have the moisturizer/wrinkle 2 part thing, 72 hour gel---but love their lipstick! I am about ready for new products----would love to know what you use. My skin is old---68 in a few weeks---have some wrinkles but not necessarily dry or oily. Thanks!

I too have scaled back my dr. denese products. I am now happy with Oil of Olay, the red jar, Regenerist with spf of 25. for about $28.00. I have also bought the purple jar for nite time, and not as happy, I've had a couple of breakouts, so now its back to hydroshield dream cream. I am also using up dr.D's facial pads.

One think I will continue to use is Dr. Denese firming facial pads---unless someone on here suggests one as good. I have tried a couple and they don't compare. But I cut them in half! Half a pad is plenty to use--- and saves $$.!

cutting them in half is a good idea, I do it every other day with the pads.

@pietook Girl, It's a GREAT question! New things come out all of the time!![]()
I've gone over to Maybelline X (times you fill in the number, 15...16...18...) the lashes! I couldn't get Mally's any longer, so I looked it up Maybeline at on line Walmart and saw ALL those high star rateings!
I don't need to be told twice! I've never had lush eyelashes! Our son does, but DH doesn't! I don't get it!

On the higher end I love Fresh parfums, some of it's skincare and lip balms.
Reasonable end: Acure moisturizers, shampoos & oils, Urban Decay light foundation and No 7.
Drugstore: Maybelline mascara and still like Burt's Bees (some of their products).

There are many drug store brands that I've used for 40+ years and I won't give them up. Ever. Revlon lipsticks, Neutrogena cleansers, CeraVe moisturizers, Gold Bond anything..... just to name a few. For Vitamin C serum and Retinol, I buy from a small company called Amara Beauty. What works for my 71-yr-old face may not work for yours - it's been lots of trial and error for me. You don't have to spend big bucks for quality skin care!

Moisturizer and sunscreen comes to mind. I have been using Neutrogena's Healthy Defense Moisturizer with SPF50 for many years (10, perhaps). It's the best for my skin, nothing comes close.

I like Neutrogena and CeraVe products. Cerave's Hydrating face wash is my favorite cleanser, even compared to high-end items. Oil of Olay makes great products but they use strong fragrances that trigger my asthma at worst and annoy me when they don't do that. I do not need my face to smell like perfume, thank you. They do make some in unscented, but they are harder to find in brick and mortar stores.
I like CoverGirl mascaras - Clump Crusher is my favorite drugstore mascara.

Drug Store: Neutrogena Hydroboost City Shield SPF 25 moisturizer. I wear that under my Clinique BB cream with SPF 30.
