My favorite soap is the original Dove soap.  I try other ones but I always come back to it.  I think the shape of it is just as important as the soap.  It fits my hand perfectly. Some of the artisan bars I bought are just not the right shape or size- to be pratical.

I don't like shower gel or body wash.  It's very drying in my opinion. I battle ezcema.  So I avoid foamy washes

I guess I'm the oddball since I like the body wash and liquid hand soaps, too, in addition to the bars.  I'm really stocked up in all forms in the "soaps" department now.

Sidebar question -

It will be a very long time before I need it, but does Dove make a body lotion or cream that anyone would care to give feedback on?

I have used the Dove bar for years, and only use the exfoliating one on my face, Beekman 1802 bars on body.

I used the DOVE moisturizing bar soap for years

switched last year to CETAPHIL because I needed a gentler cleansing

I I had skin changes

But DOVE came highly recommended by my doctor and I still use the liquid body

cleanser in the shower

No film No residue No scent

@JeanLouiseFinch ...yes, Dove makes a body lotion, and also face serums.  If the lotion smells like the bar soap, I'll have to try it.   I googled your question and saw a few products available.  Let us know if you try anything...I will too.

@Dazlin I use the Original pink bar and the white sensitive skin bar. While the while sensitive bar doesn't smell much, it is gentle on my skin. The pink bar reminds me of my youth and Dove has changed the formula to be gentle and non-drying. I've noticed that Dove bar soaps don't lather like they once did, which is fine in my book.

@legacycowgirl ...im using the original white bars, they smell great and have a good lather, very creamy.   Maybe those two your using don't lather as well...??

Dove has created several versions ... the other day I noticed they have a Prebiotic liquid soap (??) and an Antibacterial version now, too.

@Dazlin I'm going to give the white bar a try then. I was thinking maybe I got a bad batch. Who knows...I bought both packs and they were only offered in an 8-pack at the time when I ordered them. The pink bar lathers better than the sensitive bar does. Maybe it's supposed to be that way. You never know how products are stored anymore.

@legacycowgirl  - I have the white sensitive bar at my bathroom sink and have noticed it does not lather all that much.
