@Shanus  I know.  I'm not really high maintenance at all including hair as I've done this chignon a thousand times. I know my very simple  beauty routine and  have stuck to it most of my life.  I can't  stand mascara or the taking it off since I was a teenager and started with pixie lashes.  They look so real and are not flappers.  I'm also nordic blonde with very fair skin and so don't even have nice lush lashes.  Never did.

I've been wearing lashes since i was 18 so for me it's a 30 second put on every day.  But my hand must have slipped and it went downhill after that with the bloodshot eye which I could not fix.

It's murphy's law I tell you! lol.

@monicakm  No, no old boyfriends just my boyfriend and his family thank goodness.

But it always happens time and time again when you want to look great it doesn't work out that well. As a matter of fact I think it's happened all my life.

Yep, I've been wearing lashes for many years.  Very small. Ardell demi pixies 102 for so many years.  But last Sunday the glue shot on my hands somehow which I transferred to my eye. It just got sticky for some reason - transfer.   And I'm a pro. lol.

It's Murphy's law I tell you.  Best of luck with your knee surgery.

God bless.

Hope your eye is feeling better.

@TerryNJ  Thanks, yes the next day it was clear again.  My hand slipped.  I think it was a new tube of glue and alot popped out.  Somehow it got on my hand transferred it to face. ha.

@Starpolisher,

I have that quote framed in my homeWoman Happy

When I first saw it I thought It meant so much to me because I think kindness is probably my number one trait that is important to me, and winter with snow is my favorite season of all! How beautiful.

And my sister gave me The Prophet when I was sixteen.

Great topic!

I hadnt read you in awhile.

I'd hoped you'd keep coming back!

Y'know, we CHEER for one another!  Woman Happy

I think with too many of those "important look perfectly beautiful" for the occasion days/nights, happened to me soooo many times, that I probably checked back to very basics.

I think I put myself under such pressure, it fed thru to my hands & fingers, & they betrayed me, for the occasion!  At least, that's what it felt like!  So I went to very basics, or in the case of applying the false lashes, I wld put them on much sooner then usual  But that didnt always work either!

Speaking of eye lashes!

I had an incident, in prep for a Tuxedo'd dinner, accompanying my B/F who was a very visible Officer/Board Member.

As I was applying my "extraordinary makeup," for the occasion, my B/F came around the bathroom corner, as I was curling my lashes, & he said  "BOO!!"    It pulled out nearly ALL but 3 lashes in that one eye!  I was in shock!!  Utter shock. Speechless!

What'd I do??

(I'm embarrassed to say (to anyone but fellow beauties), My solution was to dance once, then sit in the "fancy dancy Ladies Room," and talked, at length with a couple of really kewl ladies. the whole time!

He sent in someone to check on me.

"Nope, i'm fine, thanks"

      (Just embarrassed!    and "one eyed!")

Guess what!  THAT was the last time he surprised me while I'm applying makeup!

(Altho it wasnt my intention.  I guess he learned)

Now cooking???

I can whip up gourmet meals, (provided it's not in prep for any occasion).  Then, I mess up even Hamburger Helper, if its for any specific occasion!

C'est la vie, oui?   heh

@JoyFilled Warrior   I so get it. A very nice post you wrote and totally get it.

I love that your BF leaves you alone now.  Mine waltzes in when I'm doing it from time to time, not often (again murphy's Iaw) try to ignore and focus but keeep conversation going. But really want to say get out and leave me alone. lol. It's a big house but we share the big his and her's which is not my preference but it is what it is.  I prefer a boudoir if you will anyday.

Well I only cook once a week, so hamburger helper sounds great to me.

Cheers.

I also think kindness is important. It's easily given and doesn't cost anything. I consider it one of my traits as well and try to practice it often. Winter with snow ☃️ are also my favorite season. Even as a teenager, I always loved Winter best. I always say it's  because I'm a "Winter baby," born in December. ❄ And what a coincidence, my sister gave me The Prophet, when I was seventeen!🤗

Re: DOES THIS HAPPEN TO ANYONE BUT ME?

@Pink123   I get it since I can have two appts. with a bride before the big day and at the "magic hour", nothing seems to go as planned.
