Sounds like you haven't set up a favorite channel list on your Directv remote. You can find directions online and on their website. With your Shanus' favs list, you only surf the channels you select. I did this back when I watched TV. DH didn't and I don't know why. I had like 13 channels I was interested in. I found it well worth my time to create my own list.

@monicakm Thanks for the info. That will be a project this weekend. Tomorrow night's outdoor wedding was moved inside (Plan B) and my associate is doing the bride's makeup. I did the makeup in my "studio" while she watched and made notes.

Speaking of nearsightedness...did you know it's not uncommon for your vision to get better? I'm near sighted. I'm 64. Over the last 5-6 years, my vision has been getting better. I would be interested to know how well I could score on a vision test. It's called "second sight". Now, I just had to increase my reading glasses from 2.5 to 3 but long distance is much improved.

Interesting, @monicakm ! (and @shoesnbags ) Because this has happened to me! Two-three years ago I was noticing that my contacts (for distance) were no longer improving much of anything. I had worn them for almost 50 years.

(I think it's from all the blue & red fruits that I eat every a.m.)

Standing, in front of the good lights I had installed in the bathroom when we moved here 18 years ago. Now I am finding I should put in led's instead of the old fashioned round globes I have, eight of them.

I don't think you'll like LEDs for makeup application. I sure didn't and gave my new (LED) makeup mirror to my daughter. I'm still using my old and, it was hard, but was able to find another with the (Im guessing) incandescent lighting). It does have the 4 different colored lenses to mimic different lighting scenarios.
