Re: DO YOU PUT YOUR MAKEUP ON STANDING OR SITTING IN A VANITY CHAIR?

I sit - always have.  The counter in our master bathroom has a built in vanity so that's where my makeup mirror is set up along with a vanity chair.  Sink is within arm's reach and there is a large mirror in addition to the makeup mirror. I have a large lucite thing with shelves and little cubbies that sits on the counter, along with a drawer and a rolling cart within reach.  So all of my makeup/skincare is handy.

Strangely enough, this bathroom layout is original to our mid-60s house and we have remodeled surfaces and fixtures but never wanted to change the convenient design of the room.

Sounds like you haven't set up a favorite channel list on your Directv remote.  You can find directions online and on their website.  With your Shanus' favs list, you only surf the channels you select.  I did this back when I watched TV.  DH didn't and I don't know why.  I had like 13 channels I was interested in.  I found it well worth my time to create my own list.

@Shanus  I don't know if this is what you're wanting to do, but if you want to watch YT on your tv you first have to have a wifi dongle (I think that's what itr's called and this is for Android.  When you find a YT video you want to "cast" to your tv, you click on the casting icon.  You should have a list of your connected devices that can be cast to.

Sounds perfect @shoesnbags.  Wish I had that special area once more like you but it's ok, we are split up with that large tub so it works just fine.

Re: DO YOU PUT YOUR MAKEUP ON STANDING OR SITTING IN A VANITY CHAIR?

I stand to apply make up.  I've always been very, very near sighted and can't see in a regular bathroom vanity mirror (just too far away).  I install a telescoping mirror on the wall so I can get up close and see what I am doing.  Only way I can get it done.  I still do this even though I've had cataract surgery because my close vision is not clear.  I have a rolling cart with multiple drawers beside the pedestal sink and store skin care and make up there.

If my dog doesn't like you, neither do I.

Speaking of nearsightedness...did  you know it's not uncommon for your vision to get better?  I'm near sighted.  I'm 64.  Over the last 5-6 years, my vision has been getting better.  I would be interested to know how well I could score on a vision test.  It's called "second sight".  Now, I just had to increase my reading glasses from 2.5 to 3 but long distance is much improved.

@monicakm

This happened to me at a much younger age.  I was nearsighted throughout my teens and 20s but in my 30s I had 20/20 vision.  The nearsightedness had just gone away.  Unfortunately, I became farsighted by age 40 and needed reading glasses.  After a while my distance wasn't too good either, due to astigmatism.  So I ended up with progressive bifocals.  74 now and still needing glasses for both near & far.

Re: DO YOU PUT YOUR MAKEUP ON STANDING OR SITTING IN A VANITY CHAIR?

I've stood in front of my bathroom mirror for the last 40 yrs.  I refurbished a dressing table vanity for me to sit at, but it's in a spare room which is also DH's office space for working from home.  I don't want to bother him or be a distraction to his business meetings so I'm still standing for now.
