Re: DO YOU PUT YOUR MAKEUP ON STANDING OR SITTING IN A VANITY CHAIR?

@Shanus

When you say you don't have the hang of streaming yet, are you referring to casting whatever is on your phone to your tv?  If so, I can help you with that if you have an Android phone and provided you have a dongle/Chromecast hooked up to your tv.  Have you ever seen this icon on a YT video?

I don't recall the tv brand but I know it was name brand and started with an S.  Samsung?  Sony?  Sharp?  I think Sharp.  That's what the kitchen tv is and we bought them at the same time.

Re: DO YOU PUT YOUR MAKEUP ON STANDING OR SITTING IN A VANITY CHAIR?

@monicakm   We have had Spectrum cable (or another cable co.) for at least 20 yrs. They finally dug up the streets around town (took them forever) and put in the fiber necessary to stream instead of cable...nothing to do with the phone.

My issue is with Direct TV, when you pull up the GUIDE, there are hundreds of channels, not with the same names as I'm used to AND by the time I scroll down to find something to watch, it's already started and I've missed the beginning of the show or movie.

It seems that I need to decide to watch TV at least 20 minutes ahead and then go through the GUIDE to find something. I really only have about 10 channels I watch frequently, so I find the system annoying BUT our Spectrum bill went up to $200 and the sooner we get it out of here the better.

I apply mu makeup sitting down.  When we renovated/enlarged our bathroom I had the extended the bathroom counter extended.  The portion for my vanity was lowered so I can sit while applying my makeup.

@monicakm  Well, you're taller than me by about 2 inches since I'm only 4'11"- and I definitely wasn't first pick for basketball even though I was great with freethrows Smiley Happy  My classmates picked me first for dodgeball and tag and my height helped me win games of hide and seek  One thing that I always wish that I could enjoy at the gym is the treadmill- I love walking on real pavement, dirt hiking trails or grass for a long time, but my mind gets so impatient and bored after only 3 minutes on a treadmill and then I have to get off of it and go straight to weightlifting- Smiley Very Happy. Also, I love the image that you chose of the elegant exhauseted lady!   I looked like that yesterday after vacuumng, deep cleaning  and mopping! Smiley LOL

Thanks for all the replies.  Well it looks like "standing up" wins for the most part.

I did it too after I left that condo with the vanity area but last year I broke my ankle.  Of course a chair came into the bathroom because I couldn't stand for any length of time including brushing teeth, flossing, etc.

So I got used to it when I healed and bought this chair and I love putting on my make up etc once more in a vanity chair.  I don't use the chair if I'm in a rush, minimal or doing my hair.  That's standing up, of course.

A swift little push back and I move it out of the way.  Light weight.

Standing. I multi task as well. I DO my skincare, and then my hair, and then go and do makeup. It only takes me 15 minutes for skincare, hair and makeup....Another 10 for my shower, and voila~!!

At this time I am standing to apply makeup. I want to reconfigure the master bath to remove the soaking tub & put in that area 2 towel bars & a vanity with a 1' square foot sink. I want 3 drawers on one side & be able to sit down & do makeup & add a GFI outlet to be able to blow dry hair there too.

I want a chair not a stool similar to one someone posted further down in the comments.

I've been wanting to buy a little vanity to put in one of the spare rooms forever I just need to pull the trigger.  Been standing doing makeup my entire life, would like to sit for a change!

Yes I'm seeing from the replies that al lot of the chairs are short.

I agree.  I'm pretty tall, at over 5'8" but this one is about 19"  which is ok. Yes it's still short.

However, I know many hold the magnifying mirror or it is attached to a wall which I did as well. (hold standing up).  Now I sit and still hold the magnifying mirror for comfort.  I will look up strength.

Now how strong is the mirror? That's a whole other story.  Too much magnification make you look crazy IMO.  It looks good when putting on but in real  life way too much makeup. Scary and too harsh. We all look so pretty....yikes. Thats why we say we look so good and have no sag, or wrinkles. lol.
