I've never head of such a thing regarding jewelry tone and skin tone.

I wear both tones.  My good watch is two-toned. That way I can mix and match other pieces.

I wear mostly gold as I find trying to keep silver from tarnishing is a pain.  Most of the silver-colored pieces I own are not true silver.

@cindyNC

True sterling tarnishes.  Base metal with sterling color will tarnish.

@foxywoods   Me either. I'm supposed to be a "cool winter"...but this was done in the early 70's and didn't like their choices for me then. I'm not a bright, jewel tone kind of gal. Rules are not my favorite. I love hunter green and olive green and also wore a camel's hair blazer and I had a long khaki coat. Those colors were a definite no, but I don't do well with rules.

I wear gold jewelry, silver and two tone.

I didn't see that show but I know this is an old theory.  Silver jewelry for cool toned and gold for warm toned.  I prefer how silver looks on me (I am cool) but I do love gold and wear it also and would never deny myself it - LOL!  I also have liked the combo of the two.  These blanket statements -- no.

My foundation shade (if I wear it) should be in the cool category, but I like neutral shades on me. It's almost impossible to find fair cool shades. I think companies assume if you're fair you're also pink toned. They usually say it's a shade for Nicole Kidman...blonde and blue eyed. I'm fair, but green eyes (throws everything off) especially when I had dark hair.

My complexion has never been "pink", but I like neutral because I like a blank canvas as far as blocking out any common redness around the nose, between brows, etc. The bit of yellow in a neutral shade counteracts that.

My new favorite face face product to wear as makeup is Dr. Jart. It's a tinted moisturizer that's got a hint of green that turns beige to cover any redness. They also have serum drops.

I am cool toned .....but like others here I wear both. If it's diamonique or diamonds and gold, I consider that wearing both silver and gold.
