DHC Deep Cleansing Oil vs. Tatcha Cleansing Oil

I've never posted here before but thought someone could give some advice. Has anyone used both the DHC oil and the Tatcha oil so that you could give your opinion as to which works best for oily acne prone skin? I know they say that a DHC oil is sold every 10 seconds worldwide but I am torn between the two and can only purchase one. TIA. I really appreciate your time!!

I don't know about Tatcha but I've been using DHC oil for years, along with their soap for "double cleansing." I get friends asking me about what I use, because over 60, I still mostly have no wrinkles. It really works well. If you pair up with a buddy who uses DHC they can refer you and you can get 4 free samples to try it before you buy it.

Re: DHC Deep Cleansing Oil vs. Tatcha Cleansing Oil

I have not used DHC, which is olive oil based, and love Tatcha, which is Rice Bran and Camellia oil based, and too expensive for me. I am not sure either of those are good for your skin type. My suggestion is to read up on oil cleansing at oilcleansingmethod.com to learn which oils will soothe and not aggravate your skin. There are suggestions there on mixing your own cleansers. Oil cleansing was the game changer for me. Castor oil and sunflower oils cleared my skin, purged all my congested pores, and balanced my skin for the first time in my life! Also, you might want to check eBay. Edited to correct

I've tried both. I think DHC is very heavy. I think Tatcha is nice but ridiculously expensive. I prefer One Love Organics or Boscia cleansing oils.

Hazelnut and/or grapeseed oils are what you'll find used as a base in DIY cleansing oils for oily/acneic skin.

Re: DHC Deep Cleansing Oil vs. Tatcha Cleansing Oil

For what it's worth...

DHC is an olive oil cleanser
Tatcha is a camellia oil cleanser.

I've tried the DHC and didn't care for it. I was impressed by the Tatcha demo and wanted to try it, but it was way too expensive, IMO. That said, I went on a search for a dupe and found Dr. Young Camellia Deep Cleansing Oil (on Amazon). I was skeptical at first, about using an oil on my face, but it turned out that I love the Dr. Young product. It costs less than Tatcha and there's more in the bottle. I use it every night. I didn't have acne prone skin, but combo with some congested pores and a breakout every now and then. Within a very short time after starting with the Dr. Young cleansing oil, my pores were cleansed of the gunk and it balanced the oil production on my combination skin and now it's more normal than combo. When I do get a zit pop up, it goes away just as quickly. It's a very gentle product and now cleansing my face with it is one of the favorite parts of my skincare routine.

Tatcha cleansing oil is very nice and so is BB's, especially when she has her 20% off sale.

Ugh, I posted a long reply twice, but my computer ate it both times, so here's the short version. I don't know about the other posters, but like you, I've also suffered from acne. I found two products that changed that for me. The first was DHC deep cleansing oil. Discovered this about 12 yrs ago. I haven tried the other one and if your acne was as bad as mine you know why - you're terrified to try anything that might make it come back or make it worse. Will post more in a second

Re: DHC Deep Cleansing Oil vs. Tatcha Cleansing Oil

Call DHC and they'll send you samples and you can try it for yourself. I hope it's as great a product for you as it's been for me. You didn't ask, but the second product that, combined with the DHC cleasing oil, has completely eliminated my acne is a drugstore cheapie I learned about from my derm's nurse: clean and clear continuous control. $5 at Target. It's the one in the purple tube...not the scrub. Iit has benzoyl peroxide only. I was skeptical of both of these products and afraid to try them, but I'm glad I did! Best of luck! Acne is so hard to live with. For what it's worth, I get compliments on my skin now...it's so shocking to me, because I never thought that would have been possible!

If you get samples from DHC, try the mild cleansing oil. the original cleansing oil was too harsh for my skin.
