DD (hygienist, you all know by now) suggested purchasing disposable paper masks to wear underneath washable cloth ones to keep those more sanitary. That's what she's doing. Although her dental office opened last week, she cannot return to work since being tiny like Mama, she requires a child-size heavy duty professional mask. They are not able to find any for her. She wears that one all day and changes the disposable ones over it before each patient.

That doesn't surprise me at all. I tend to get moist under the mask due to my breath and then I breathe harder because I find masks kinda suffocating, which also means it fogs up my glasses even more. Then, after I take it off and my face dries it feels like there's some sort of film over it. Of course, I know of one dermatologist in my town (and we don't have many to begin with) that is anti-makeup at all. So, you have to know if there is that bias to begin with.
Luckily for me, I'm completely comfortable going out in public without makeup on since that's the only time I wear a mask anyways. I think I did my brows and put on some mascara for my Dr. appointment.
Unless there is sunscreen in my makeup, I don't wear it on a daily basis unless I'm going to be outside. I hate the feel of sunscreen. My regular makeup I can actually forget I'm wearing except the mascara/eyeliner which does irritate my eyes, something that only began after I stopped wearing makeup on a daily basis. I will wear full makeup for church, but I won't be wearing a mask except for maybe during the sermon since I'm in a group that will be leading the worship service. From what I understand everybody will be escorted to their seats to assure distancing. We're a small congregation and an older congregation. A lot of them will continue to stay home for now, so it will be easy to stay distant. We'll begin in-person services next Sunday.

If I had to wear a mask for any length of time my face would surely get irritated without the protection of makeup so no I definitely will wear full face makeup with a long lasting makeup spray that resists sweat all over!! Sweat on unprotect sensitive facial skin will cause more issues without makeup - unless maybe a cheap poor quality one.

With a mask I dont wear a drop of makeup, lip color, or even moisurizer. I do that stuff when I get home after washing my face, except for putting on makeup.
Sometimes I do put on eye liner and mascara but not so often since my bangs are long now and getting in my eyes lol.

Who needs makeup under a mask? I haven't had makeup on since I've been wearing masks out in public. Nothing shows but your eyes, if you want to do your brows and lashes.
I will do my brows & lashes when I see my hair stylist next Thursday however.

My skin feels too tight to go without moisturizer and it's my anti ageing as well.
If we aren't to wear our anti ageing, we're going to have to do a lot of back tracking aren't we?

@Icegoddess I understand what you're saying about being uncomfortable in the mask. I am, too...somewhat claustrophobic. For me, wearing foundation, even a tinted moisturizer makes the sweaty, sticky feeling worse. I do however suggest you find a sunscreen..lightweight lotion type, matte if you prefer, when you're outside wearing your mask even for the time going from car to church, etc. In spring/summer, sun is getting stronger. If you get any sun on your face on the areas not covered w/ the mask, those areas can later appear as hyperpigmentation, darker or redder or splotchy compared to the masked areas. Sometimes that sun damage is permanent requiring you to somehow cover w/ makeup. You said that you're comfortable going out w/o it, but with obvious discoloration, will you also go makeup free? Not trying to bully or scare you into the importance of sunscreen.
I wear it ever day at home, going out or not, rain or shine. I've made it a habit, apply it after washing my face like I would a moisturizer. Then going out walking the dog, getting the mail, a stop at the grocery store, I'm covered as far as spf. It may not be common knowledge, but harmful rays come through the windows while you're home watching tv or on the computer. It can cause dark spots or darker areas on your face or neck not to mention those that develop into melanoma. I just don't take the chance. I've come dangerously close having biopsies now from sun damage as a child. Now that most are not wearing face makeup under the masks, it's only one step in the morning to be safe and keep your complexion clear enough to feel OK without foundation in public like you said you prefer.

@Pook May I ask if you workout, do any exercise, garden, walk your dog, etc. or any situation when you'll perspire? Do you wear full face makeup then? If so, pores not clogged? Even the most expensive makeup will go into pores when you sweat. Sealing it in with a long lasting spray, IMHO is a recipe for more issues than you're aware of.
