I tested out their foundation that was very nice. If you want to spend more money try Armani or Chanel. Good luck.
Someone on these boards told me that Laura Mercier was no longer cruelty free, that they tested "where required by law." Then I looked it up on logicalharmony dot net. I am still just sick over it. I love Laura Mercier make-up. I'm going to finish what I have, but it's almost time to buy more foundation. Thanks for the tip on the Urban Decay. Their parent company isn't cruelty free though. I would never spend the money for Armani or Chanel.
NickNack, You could also look into organic makeup. Juice Beauty is one sold at ULTa and their own website but there are others which you would have to Google.

I purchased Jane Iredale at the spa. Definitely not a doctor's office but they have their own esthetician. Maybe look for a place that has an esthetician onsite if you want get JI stuff?

Do you have a Merle Norman near you? They are cruelty free. I haven't used their line in awhile but I remember they had a loose powder that I really liked.

P.S. NickNack, Check out Ecco Bella organic makeup online (not sure where else it is sold as I just found out about it). Going to their website now. Kat

I think they have Jane Iredale at Nordstrom's too- but I am not sure if the mineral thing will work for the OP.
I get Lucy Minerals. It was founded by a woman with Rosacea and it is all natural and no animal testing. There were review videos for it online. http://www.lucyminerals.com/shop-by-category/ I ordered samples of her products first. This is a small business, but the mineral makeup quality is excellent - it is so finely milled that it feels almost creamy when you apply it and the coverage is full. A tiny bit goes a long way.
this person MakeupTIA on youtube is has recently gotten into organic make up and has alot of recommendations (plus her videos are just great):

Also this you tuber is really into cruelty free Teri Miyahira (her videos are longer) but she can give you lots of makeup options.

Finally you may want to checkout Beautylish online - they sell products but also have lots of cruelty free options. (or maybe only cruelty free - not sure)

Here is my experience... not being critical just reporting my results... I have rosacea and very sensitive/finnicky skin... the beauty counter at the mall used to cringe when they saw me coming!
1) Bare minerals... used 4 years and then... no
2) Lucy minerals... ordered samples and my skin felt "smothered" -- sorry, it felt "heavy" on me.
3) faerieorganic... I use this on top of my discontinued liquid foundation to stop the shine. It gives a light, finished look. Spoke with the owners three years ago on the phone... could hear little ones in the background... (not saying this validates anything... just made me feel better about using this line). I love their bronzer... and notice that it really gives a healthful glow without causing any little bumps. Love their porcelain 00/porcelain/veil.
