That's right.

It's the same thing with Bare Minerals and Shiseido.

Rule of thumb:  If they sell in China, they test on animals.

It's the law in China.

Re: Coty considering divesting beauty assets

I remember the old Coty. My father owned a drug store in the 60's.  Coty was one of the main BIG names. I never used too much of their stuff, but people sure did like their products.... the good old days!

@Phantom41

Yes, Clairol reformulated Natural Instincts, similar to what they did with Nice n' Easy. Why Clairol thought this was a good idea is beyond me. Nobody asked them to redo their formulas either.

I bought up every box of the old formula of Natural Instincts in shade 4 dark brown as that is what I use to color my husband's hair. I currently have 13 boxes of the old formula stashed under my bathroom counter as my husband needs a hair coloring once a month or so.

If you look at the Natural Instincts reviews on Clairol's facebook page, (you do not have to have a facebook account or be logged in to facebook to read the customer reviews either) you'll see plenty of complaints about the reformulations of both Natural Instincts and Nice n' Easy hair colors.

Estee Lauder is famous for ruining most (or all) of the brands they've purchased.  The newbies wouldn't know,  but those long time users prior to their take over, know immediately.  SHAME.

Yup, just look at what Estee Lauder did to Ojon.

I wonder how well Philosophy is selling. All of a sudden I am seeing a lot of their body washes in various scents in Winners in Canada. Winners is part of TJX, the parent company of T.J. Maxx and Marshalls.

I was never a fan of Philosophy but this has made up my mind. I am sure I can find a business to give my money to that does not test on animals. Although, so many companies do have products made in China I will have to check it out. I am pretty sure Skinn and Serious Skin care are made in the US. I believe Josie Maran is still made here, but really not sure.

Coty ruined some of the Philosophy fragrances.

Didn’t City acquire Tova’s fragrance line? I recall talk on the blogs that the fragrances were not the same as they used to be.
