I always shake my head at some of these $400 "must have" skin serums and other face-saving products.  Breathlessly repeating the statement, "It does everything I've promise you!"  Leaving off the rest of that sentence, "but of course it works exactly the same as the $19.95 cream you can get in your local drug store."

If all the creams and potions really worked then their hawkers, such as Dr. Denese and Adrien Arpel, would not have had their faces lifted.  So what does it matter if you use the $500 or $5.00 cream......it's still not going to

reverse or prevent time from marching on our faces.

Sorry, but you're comparing apples and oranges here.  It's one thing to use good skin care products to soften wrinkles, use SPF, lighten dark spots, etc and an entirely different thing to have a "lift".

There's no cream or potion that can do what a lift of any sort does.    Further, having a face lift does not mean you don't need moisturizers and whatever else your skin needs.   Two different categories entirely.

While I agree that it may be apples and oranges and that creams and serums can even out skin tone and moisturize deeply enough to soften wrinkles, etc...  the Dr. Denese's, Adrien Arpels, that have cosmetic surgery in order to look younger never, ever disclose this fact while selling their skin serums and creams.

The natural implication is for the customer to look at the faces of these ladies and assume that if they use the products they too will turn back the hands of time in the same way and look just as good.  Never in all the years I've watched (and used) most of these products has anyone who's had cosmetic surgery stopped to proclaim 1) that they've had plastic surgery, one I know of had denied it for years on another forum, or 2) that the difference between having cosmetic surgery and using topical products isn't in any way the same but would be happy to go into detail.

So....  imho.... it's intentional if only to imply to the customer that you too will look like me if you use my products.  Boy would I have a ton of respect for these ladies if they took the time to say that they've had plastic surgery..... I mean, it's not like you can't tell anyway.....

Except that Dr Denese is selling a neck cream to supposedly improve the look of wrinkles on the neck. She's had a lower face lift in order to fix her own neckline and a year out or more from her procedure she looks good on TV now.

But a year ago in January when she was first on air after her procedures you could tell that she had a recent facelift as she wasn't totally healed and there were a lot of comments here about how different she looked. She does have a good plastic surgeon though, she doesn't look overdone.

@Q4u

I didn't hear it personally, but I read comments on here by others that Dr Denese had, in fact, talked about her plastic surgery.

Maybe someone else who saw that can comment here?

Some like Chevy's and others like Fords.

@Tinkrbl44

I believe she commented about having her eyes done on facebook more than a year ago due to all the comments about her changed looks but I don't think she commented about having anything else done even though it was obvious that she had more than just an eyelid lift.

Sorry, didn't buy a thing.  Not even Dr.Denese. Want  TF or YSL lipstick, just haven't parted with the cash.

I did like a few of Adrienne's products 15+ yrs ago but I moved on and just stopped watching and being shrieked at.

Currently enjoying my return to EL skincare. When I try something high end like Chanel or Armani, I hit the bay for a travel/sample size.

Spending $10-20 bucks doesn't give me heartburn when it's a meh.

Yes... that was after all the hullabaloo regarding (I believe) her latest and most obvious cosmetic surgery (a while ago now).  It was being talked about all over the place.  She has always denied it or ignored it which is ridiculous imho because it has always been so obvious.  Anyway, I'm very aware of her "confession" or owning up to it.... (I saw it)  she more or less had to.  There was also a lot of chatter here about it.

Yes, I believe she had more than her eyes done.  She came on the air with virtually no labial folds.  One was more distinctive than the other when I looked at her.  I realize that this is her personal business BUT she also sells cosmetics with the implication that her beauty is due to using her line.  Not owning up to having cosmetic surgery for years.... then only admitting to a small portion of it when people started talking about it and I lost respect for her.    Again, why fib about cosmetic surgery??  Most people can tell anyway.....
