I really don't buy lots of cosmetics, just a few from Avon, staples that I might need. I was looking through my stash when I wasn't so frugal or careful and I have lots of unopened items. Charities call me all the time for donations.
Just curious, do any of you donate unopened cosmetic items? Or is that a nono. Some are not new but seem to be in good condition. I don't know what to do. Seems a waste just to toss them.

Any and all donated items must be sealed and unused. I wouldnt want a health/beauty item that an unknown person had stuck their hands into, no matter how expensive or inexpensive it was. Just not sanitary-yuk.

Yes I usually have a big box of things for the women's shelter that includes unopened and unused makeup (usually deluxe sample sizes but sometimes full). They really appreciate all donations, including these types of things. I like to put in nail polish too because they like to have fun with nail polish, especially if they have daughters with them.

Mine are totally upopened but not new. Most were part of kits and I am not a user of face creams or anti-aging items. I am going through the stash now. Little bit embarrasing what I actually have. But giving it to someone who can use it will make me feel good. Thanks.

bonnielu...
I had a ton of soaps hotel size, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion all from my travels. I got ziplock sandwich bags and put one of everything into each bag. When I was finished I had 57 bags. I took them to our local shelter "Loaves and Fishes". Let me tell you it was like I was giving them gold. They were so very grateful.
Something so little...Could mean so much to someone who has nothing.

The women's shelter gladly takes them! I am a hair product junkie, as I have a license and am always trying something . I had a couple boxes of full products under the sink. They took them and will use them. They do like the personal size products as they can include them in kits for the homeless or emergency stays at the shelter. Many times our church would take lots of the products to Africa (Nigeria) to an orphanage mission ther for them. The women LOVED the make up products and the hair products, it was such a treat.
