I would describe my skin color as Medium....so warm undertone is "yellow" and cool undertone is "pink" Is this correct.

Yes that's correct. There is also neutral skin which is me:-)

But doesn't Bobbie Brown use yellow undertone on all her foundations?

Yes she does. I've tried a few of her foundations in the past and they were too yellow.

There is also neutral. I am pink undertone or can go neutral. The pink is my best match. I am a fair/light. Cosmetics cos. all offer different shades. Some start their shades very dark and some are way too yellow. I have found that Laura Mercier offers pink, neutral & yellow undertones for all different skin shades. Yes, you pay a little more but you receive the best match. It's good to match your foundation to your skin by applying to the jaw bone because you never want a line where you stop your foundation (the good old days). She does have awesome products too.

I so agree. I consider her wrong, wrong, and did I say, WRONG?

I've also heard to check the inside of your wrist -- if your little veins are blue, you're cool; if they're green, you're warm.
And just another piling on Bobbi Brown -- can't wear any of her stuff.

I've read this, too, but does anyone really have green veins?
I dunno. I think even if you can correctly determine your skin tone, each cosmetic company is going to have their own idea of how to complement it. A "cool" tone in one line may not be so "cool" in another.
And I have become very wary of "neutral" tones. Some of them are more cool or warm or worse, grayish.

I believe that ""cool"" undertones are always people with very fair coloring. I am a redhead so I am very fair and cool toned. And i still have tons of freckles even though I am older.

Yellow is used best on skin that has too much red in it. It's great for people with rosecia or other redness in their skin.
If you have no red in your skin to tone down, it's probably not the best color for you.
