I've never done it but I think I'm going to jump on the bandwagon because, well, why not!?!? The IT Top Find inspired me but I'm not a fan of IT so I'm not ordering that palette. I have warm/neutral fair skin. What are your favorite contour and highlighting products? I do have a Laura Geller highlighter but open to other suggestions. Starting from ground zero with contouring products. Products can either be individual or a palette. Also, any specific brushes I need?

I have fair neutral toned skin.  I really like Too Faced Chocolate Soleil matte bronzer and thBalm Mary-Lou Manizer.  Becca Moonstone pressed highlighter and Laura Geller vanilla highlighter are also really nice.  I don't go crazy with contouring, but I do like to use bronzer under my cheekbones and highlighter on my cheekbones and down the center of my nose.

@Rachb I'm at the very beginning of the learning curve, so not muich in the way of suggestions other than the brush you need is probably going to depend on the product you are using. I purchased a Becca kit that included a contour/highligher, but didn't purchase their contour brush. I was having absolutely no luck until I accidently discovered that the round Bare Minerals brush that is the same as the one for their serum foundation minus the carved out part in the middle seems to work. I haven't gotten around to giving it a few more tries to perfect the technique, but my one attempt looked better than any of my other attempts with other brushes and/or contour products.

I'm using the Kat Von D Shade and Light contour palette. I like that there are 3 sets of contour and highlight. I used to use Bareminerals Chisle It and Emphasize it or even just slightly lighter and darker mineral foundation to do the job.

I forgot to say, I love the Kat Von D shade and light contour brush but I only use it with her palette. I use a Bareminerals blush brush with their loose minerals when I use them.

Thanks @jaxs mom. I was trying to remember the names of the Bare Minerals contour colors. Chisel It and Emphasize It were way before their time.

I love theBalm Mary Lou and Cindy Lou for strobing. I use a fan brush very lightly to brush it on. Tati on youtube shows how to do it very well.

I use a very wide thick flat brush to lay it down under my cheekbones and nose then use an angled flat fluffy brush to blend my contour. I learned about that from a couple of youtubers.

If you want to come out cheap you can buy the elf cosmetics contour comes in a small compact with a blush..... I also use the Kat Von D  three piece contour with highlighters and I just noticed on QVC  that it cosmetics has brought in a brand-new Contour compact with a highlighter

I always contour and I have a few different products in both powders and creams. What I can add is that I find the powders easier to work with and quicker but that doesn't mean I don't use a cream blush or highlighter on occasion. I switch it up. Ulta has a big round compact, all 3 in powder, that is inexpensive and that you may want to pick up and play with

Pixi (at Target) contour powder, or the new cream Maybelline highlight/contour stick (can be found at Walmart, Lord help us!). The important thing to remember with contour is to use a color that has some taupe/grey undertone to it, NOT orange. The taupe/grey mimics an actual shadow, vs the brown/orange of a bronzer. Both of the products I mentioned (Maybelline in the Light shade) have this. Pixi is also coming out with a multi balm stick in several colors (you can look on their IG for more info), and one of the shades is "Sculpt" which also looks very promising. HTH!
