I have been humbled once again. No, I don't know it all. Before I go any further, let me say that I have been using WEN for 2+ years. My closet and shower are filled with various WEN scents and I am a gallon purchaser. Lastly, I am a WEN cheerleader/promoter to everyone I come in contact with. That being said, I have always let my hair dry naturally and I never have used use a hairdryer, styling iron, flat iron, mousses, hair spray, etc. I don't even dye my hair. I pride myself on having "virginous" hair. When using the WEN though, I never did a cleanse, rinse and repeat because I felt that having never done the above damaging things to my hair I didn't really need 2 applications. I also felt that maybe Chaz just wanted to have his customers use more so that he could sell more. Although I truly don't believe that he is that type of "salesman". Well, to make a too long story shorter, today I decided to try the "cleanse, rinse and repeat" process just to see what would happen. Imagine my surprise, my hair (which I always love on WEN) is even better today! I am a new poster to this forum but wanted to post this in case someone else was making my same "ignorant" mistake. Sorry I am long-winded and thanks for letting me post! - Clare

Glad you got great results switching it up
I have to say, I am always surprised when people (not just you) say they see the double cleanse suggestion as a way to get us to use/buy more CC. It is explained very clearly every time that for the double cleanse, you split the number of pumps you would otherwise use in half, and use half for each cleanse. I've never figured out how the math works that makes that come out to using more!

Hi cg! Thanks for sharing that story. I do a second cleanse unless I am short on time. Plus, I was so used to shampoo and condition that two cleanses made the transition easy for me.
Also, make sure you use half the number of pumps for both cleanses.
I'm so glad it worked for you!

Actually, when you do two cleanses, he says to SPLIT the amount you use, NOT to use twice as much! I wish more people understood this. So no, he is NOT asking you to use twice as much WEN by doing two cleanses!

UGH! I missed the part that you were supposed to split up the number of pumps for first and second. Thanks so much for setting me straight!

I honestly don't get the accusation that Chaz wants you to use more by doing to two cleanses when right on the bottle is says divide in 1/2 for each of two cleanses.
This isn't specifically directed at the OP, since I see that claim regularly on the forums.

cgil - thanks for sharing your story. Chaz didn't always recommend the double cleanse method. I started using WEN in September of 2011 so it sounds like we're close in our use history, give or take a few months maybe. I was a single cleanser for a long time until one day Chaz was on QVC and talked about double cleansing. That was a first. I think the confusion for some people is that they hear "double cleanse" and it translates in their brain to "double the amount". Keep in mind that it's entirely possible to use too little cleansing conditioner, but using more than recommended will not hurt. Anyway, I'm glad you found renewed happiness with WEN.

It was clients who kept telling Chaz Wen is even better when you double cleanse. He heard it over and over before he started recommending it. I use it first like a shampoo on my scalp, then some on the ends like a conditioner.

Riosmom, thanks for sharing that tidbit because I didn't know that. It's good to know that even Chaz sometimes takes a while to come around to a new way of doing things (but that he is always listening).
I've been watching Chaz's presentations for years now and every so often I incorporate some piece of advice (that he's been sharing for years) into my routine. Inevitably I shake my head and say:
Why didn't I just listen to Chaz the first time??
