Conair Infinity SpinBrush review

Hey ladies. I got this in the mail last week...I had posted about the sale through Best Buy.

I have fine, thin hair that you can perm six months under the skin and it will still be straight. It is VERY hard to get any volume or curl to stay of ANY KIND in my hair. Some would kill for that kind of hair, but because I don't have a lot of it, this makes it very difficult to have most styles. My hair is layered shoulder length. Anyway, I wanted to try this out as it sounded like it might help. I tried this on damp hair after I used a volumizing treatment in my hair (Living Proof).

First, I did not find the brush to be heavy or unwieldy. I am used to working well with a round brush and blow dryer, curling irons, etc., so I feel like I am fairly adept at using styling tools. Still, this was lighter than I thought it would be.

There are two buttons that will rotate the brush either direction. I found this was great as I switch hands to do the other side of my head and this was easy to use for me. Brilliant idea to have brush rotate both directions.

My other concern was that my hair would tangle in the bristles. I didn't have any problem at all. The bristles moved very well through my damp hair and didnt pull at all. I also didn't notice an excessive amount of hair being "pulled out".

I love this dryer, however I'm not sure I'm going to keep it for the following reasons:

1. It did such a great job of smoothing my hair that I actually didn't get much volume in it.

2. Not much curl for me...more straightening than curling or even bending at the ends.

3. Made my hair look even thinner than it is because of the softness that my hair ended up with.

4. I did not find that it gave me any volume at the crown at all even though I curled, stopped the brush rotation and then used the cool blast button. Again, this may just be a function of my very thin, fine hair and you may have a different result.

I can see this for ladies with curly hair or hair with body. I loved the way it made my hair feel, just not the way it looked as it did TOO good a job on smoothing and didn't give me any volume especially at the crown where I need it most. I also think it would work well on short or long hair.

Anyway, this is my exp with it. I don't think I'm keeping it as I do get better volume and curl using my round brush and dryer. This didn't work for me NOT because the dryer is not good..it's really the bomb...my hair is just....well....a limp mop on my head. LOL.
