I hereby join everyone here on this issue. I'm SO OVER depending on the Q for all my shopping. The SH is taxed too if you weren't aware -- I looked into this and it's legal AS LONG AS THE COMPANY IS MAKING MONEY ON THE SHIPPING!! There you go - higher shipping then higher tax. I've cut back to buying only the great sale items, 5 EZ pays, free SH & items I can't find elsewhere. In other words I look elsewhere before placing my order on the Q. I can understand a higher ship charge for a large or heavy item but when I'm being charge $6-$7 for a small eye cream (packed in an overkill box!) NO THANKS. I have a special prepaid deal on a Large "A" online store --- I pay ONLY for the products & get my package in 2 days!!

The Philosophy website had it for $52.00, no S&H and no tax.

QVC Total: $63.45

Today I stumbled on Shop HQ I never watched before but I was fascinated with their Special Value . 2.98 for the first set of 3 pairs of sheets . All others all day free. Also they said that if you get their card they would remove twenty dollars on your bill and until Wednesday you get free shipping on everything you purchase. Why am I so loyal to QVC?

Tax on s&h is mandated by individual state laws. Some states change tax on shipping while others tax only the goods.

ShopHQ is getting my business more and more. They often send discount codes to my email and they have great shipping deals.

This is one greedy home shopping network. The others offer it quite often.

The thing is this: QVC GETS A WHOPPING DISCOUNT ON BULK SHIPPING!!

But they rarely pass this savings onto the Q customer. I'm not talking about the palty percentage off that USPS offers those printing shipping labels off their website.

OR the "better" shipping discount that Ebay/Paypal gives their Sellers when they use Ebay when printing a shipping label (I qualify for that one). And Ebay tries to force their sellers to give free shipping on their products even though most sellers are Moms and Pops such as myself who in no way can afford to give free shipping, and keep their prices as low as possible. So Sellers on Ebay offer the Free Shipping (Ebay won't give you additional discounts without it) BUT raise their overall prices accordingly. So the customer who doesn't realize that they're paying for shipping anyway with a higher base price thinks they are getting free shipping. It's such a crock.

So here we are... one of THE BIGGEST retailers ever, getting a huge discount on shipping and rarely passes on any portion of this savings to the Q Buyer. Yes, we have reason to be critical because what we pay in shipping is LARGELY going into the profit of the item we buy, translating to an even higher base price overall.

It's something I think about every time I order. Which, unfortunately (because I love the convenience of the Q) is less and less as time goes by.

If QVC offered free S&H, they would have to stop offering big discounts on their products. What? Oh. Never mind.

Shop around, people. You're being had, if you'll allow it. The deals and free S&H are out there for the taking.........they're just not here! Shop around!

IMO, it's really "No free lunch" versus "resting on your laurels" and not keeping up with current market conditions. A little fussy feedback certainly couldn't hurt Q. There are often many comments made "no one on this board controls". Doesn't mean there is anything wrong with pointing it out. You may not care but apparently others do.

It's absolutely important to a good number of people, myself included.

Why on earth would I buy my two Ole Henricksen items here when I ordered them from his website and got $100 worth of products in his holiday gift bag, 3 samples, the shipping was free, and it shipped the same day I ordered it.

There are some people such as yourself that don't care and will keep shopping here for things you could get elsewhere for less and that's QVC's target audience. I do buy some things here, but only if I can't get them anywhere else.
