@Brisky - Thank you ladies for your kind words and support. It really does mean a lot.

When the kids were younger, before they were in school, I worked one 12hr shift a week on the weekend, (sometimes more in the summer) otherwise I was home with them all week while hubby was working so that they didn't have to go to daycare. I really enjoyed it and was so grateful that I was able to do it. It was tiring, but I was younger (in my 30's) and it wasn't exhausting.

Now, I'm older, 48, and working 3 days a week where I'm up at 5am and I don't get home til 5:30pm and honestly, I just feel a lot more tired than I used to. Once I'm home the idea of leaving again is such a turn off. It's not as bad if I didn't work all day.

I definitely don't sleep as well at night, so that doesn't help I'm sure. I've had my thyroid checked and that's fine. I know I don't eat right or exercise, I'm sure that doesn't help either.

I'm getting older and the kids are just starting high school/middle school so I need to figure out a way to survive this. I guess I'm just going to have to bite the bullet for the next few years and do this, just like I did when they were little. Some things might have to slide around the house a bit, but that's hard too because it seems like there's always SO much that needs to be done.

But thanks for listening to me rant, I do really appreciate it!

You will survive and get thru this time! Those are really long work days. I know in the past I've done those super long days thinking it's nice to have the other days off...but when working those long day, wow they feel really long!

I think most of us often feel worn down tired at times and then look around the house, see all the stuff that needs to get done then get more tired. I've given up trying to have the perfect clean house. That exists only in movies or for wealthy people who have maids, cooks etc to care for them 24/7.

For me, tackling 1 task at a time helps. It's overwhelming to look at everything that needs to get done. This weekend, I got the laundry done. I then went outside to enjoy a walk. Yes, there were other cleaning tasks to do but I decided a mental health walk was more important.

I have a coworker who almost every night after work and all weekend long, she's just driving her son around to the multiple sports events. He's currently in 3 different sports leagues. She's always telling me how tired she is...but I want to ask - does her son actually like all of these nonstop activities?? Or is it just keeping up appearances??

Re: ComPact 2019 – Simple September

On the compacting front, I had a mini victory - I didn't buy any Philosophy shower gels during their big sale event this weekend! oh yeah I saw temptation...even debated about a couple then I went to look at my stash. Didn't buy any! Even though they were taunting me with fun Fall and even Winter scents! I finished a bottle of gel yesterday so I got to raid my stash for a new fragrance. Sort of sad how long it did take me to decide which to open LOL.

I have found that my skin does like their When Hope Is Not Enough. That was their TSV. Since I didn't have any new bottles in my stash, I did order it. I refill a smaller 1 ounce bottle instead of using the big jumbo bottles each day. Looking at my current skincare regime, I should have plenty of serums, creams, cleansers to make it to 2020 with no more purchases. That's my goal! Baby steps, I have my makeup spending in control, skincare is getting whipped into shape....just body creams, shower gels to beat into submission my desire to buy buy buy when they are on sale.

I am drinking a bad cup of tea.  I picked up some Celestial Seasonings and Bigelow at the grocery store and I'm just not getting any tea flavor here.

BH asked why I bought them and I said it was because the price was right.  Harney & Sons is more expensive.  Then he said, "But you enjoy your tea."

Not this tea.

Oh, well.  I guess I need to stick to H&S.  Life is short.  I require something to look forward to when I wake up.  That used to be coffee and now it's tea.  It better be good tea.

Must brew a mug of Paris now...

I have often fallen for buying a tea due to the price was right. I've found several that are duds...then I'll buy something online that has stellar reviews...try it and don't love it. I think I want my tea to punch me in the mouth with flavor and when it's faint taste, I then try using more bags to increase flavor. Currently trying a new-to-me pumpkin chai tea. 1 bag = such a faint light flavor it's not worth my time to sip it. 2 bags = decent chai taste but don't get anything 'pumpkin' in it.

I'm trying to drink more water so I like finding herbal fruit teas to cold steep in water. There are some icky ones out there! LOL I have a cabinet filled with random boxes. Told myself I can't buy anymore until I weed out a bunch or maybe try mixing different flavor bags to create a winning cocktail.

I lost my tea collection after the fire, so I promised myself that I wouldn't amass another hodgepodge of undrinkables.  Have to be careful because I seem to have a weird magnetic quality.  If I'm near tea, varieties jump out at me and follow me home.

I was thinking of using two bags on the newer teas to squeeze some flavor out of them.  Or maybe I'm too critical.  I just think I should stick to my favorites and be done.

I remember referring to the old 3-for-$33 sales as the 6-for-$66 sales.  And I'd buy more than that.  No wonder I had over a hundred 3-in-1s.

I couldn't wait to be done with all of them so I could try something new.  Kinda got my wish, I guess.  I'm happy with the Raw Sugar Avocado and Cactus Pear body wash right now.  Don't know if I'll dry out this winter, but so far so good.
