I'm getting closer to getting out the door.
I have a really old plastic kitchen container in my bathroom drawer. So old that I think it was part of a set I brought to college with me in the '70s. It's about 9 1/2 inches long, 5 1/2 wide and less than 2 inches deep.
I toss rings, earrings and assorted makeup in there.
I know I shouldn't casually toss my jewelry around so I plan to get any jewelry I have in the bathroom back to where it should be.
But I was thinking that because I've whittled down my makeup collection to the point where I should be able to put it all in one container I did just that.
It's all in that one little container now. And what's taking up the most space is that ancient LG baked blush palette. I'm down to two blushes after all these years.
Progress!

Ironically, the two blushes that I've used up (and liked) have been discontinued.
Of course!

The end of an era...
I took the dog for a walk and saw a couple trucks turn into the neighborhood. When we walked up the hill towards the house I noticed they were parked in front of our driveway.
They replaced our street lamp with an LED.
The old light was home to so many birds over the years. They nested inside it. I stood and watched for a moment -- long enough to see the workman pull years of nesting material out of the fixture and drop it all at the end of my driveway.
When they drove off, the nests were still on the ground. I just swept them up and threw them away.
Sad.

Such wonderful posts and insights, I can relate to so much of what you guys are saying.
I have been trying to do better with purchases, I actually went into an Ulta store with my sister and a 20% off coupon and walked out with nothing! The only thing I am getting low on is my morning cleanser and they don't carry the brand I'm currently using, so I ordered a couple of gifts from Amazon and added the cleanser to that order. It was a good price and I only ended up getting the one item. I love Ulta and I'm sure I will place an order soon, but I'm trying to wait until I could use a few things and order enough to get free shipping. I feel like it was a win!
HEP is a total failure for me too, I think I'm the heaviest I've ever been. I've been totally avoiding the scale but my clothes are all getting really snug. I just can't seem to get motivated either to exercise, or cut back on the junk food. I have to soon, or else I'm either going to be buying all new clothes or running around naked and neither one of those options is appealing.

I only tried one of my fragrance dupes from the Dollar store, the dupe for Obsession, and I'm surprised to say that I really liked it. It reminded me a lot of when I used to wear a dupe many years ago. I'll try it again but I think for $1 I would definitely buy it again.
I haven't tried the Amazing Grace dupe yet from Walgreens, but when I was at Ulta Thursday I sprayed some regular Amazing Grace on my jacket. Yesterday when I put my coat on to leave work I could still smell it on my sleeve and it smelled really good. I was surprised that the scent was still there the next day. I might have to consider a gift set from Ulta for myself for Christmas this year and skip ordering from QVC. I'm usually a Falling in Love or Unconditional Love girl but the last couple of times I've ordered big sets from QVC I've been really disappointed in the lasting power of the fragrances, so I stopped wasting my money. I'm wondering too if they're formulated differently for QVC then the regular stores.
I tried my new Milani foundation once and it was ok. Not great, not horrible. It wasn't as creamy as I had hoped it would be. I'll try it again today. I think I'll be able to use it, but I don't know if I'll buy it again. Also when I was at Ulta I tried a couple of foundation sticks on my hand and really liked how they felt on, not dry like a powder, but not really wet and sticky like a liquid either. I will definitely consider trying one of these sticks in the future, the hard part is deciding which color to choose. If and when I do purchase any I think I'll go to Rite Aid because they offer a color guarantee so I can return them if they don't work, and it's really convenient for me to stop there. If I don't do that I think I'm just going to go back to my Covergirl Aquasmooth, I'm tired of the search.

The reason I don't like the search is that it exposes you to way too many products. I'm finally -- FINALLY! -- at a point where I have minimal makeup and I'm okay with the products I'm using. Unfortunately, some of them have been discontinued, but I think I can find similarly priced replacements.
That's why I just went ahead and gambled on a tube of Lumene CC Cream from Amazon. I don't know if it's an old tube or one of the new ones. I don't know if the "new" shade will be darker than the "old" medium. I just know that if it does work out, I won't have to worry about CC cream for another year.

It was! It's Nooooooooooovember and every NO is a win. There are a few things I could use but they're not urgent.
Stores are going to start turning into circuses soon and I want to avoid that environment. I'm holding off on new scrubs, new shirts to wear under them and any new "beauty" products. I have enough for the rest of the year.
There will always be coupons, discounts and special offers.
Alegria knows I was on their site yesterday because my inbox is full of "snag your new markdown yet?" emails.
The LAST thing I need is shoes.

Exactly! Nine times out of ten, what I end up purchasing is not something I thought of myself, but something that I saw browsing online or in a catalog or store. I didn’t think of it. It wouldn’t have occurred to me that I wanted or needed it if I hadn’t seen it somewhere. So limiting browsing limits the buying.

I haven't accomplished much this week because I've been relaxing. I keep asking myself why I'm putting pressure on myself to use my vacation time to do everything that needs to be done.
I never use vacation time to just relax. I always have a project to address.
So this week was a write-off. I even put pressure on myself to try to watch some of the stuff I have saved on my DVR. Haven't watched a thing all week.
I've been sitting here drinking tea, listening to the radio and browsing online.
Immersed myself in browsing!
Looking at stuff I don't need or even want. How weird is that?
Haven't bought a thing (other than BH picking up the Lumene for me) and I haven't even bought what I do need: Corkscrew!
Toying with the idea of sticking with my old school tea kettle but I've noticed a difference with my tea. I'm starting to believe that water temperature really does make a difference.
Which got me looking at a Cuisinart PerfecTemp Cordless Electric Kettle.
Do I really need to adjust my water temperature? Maybe I do. One of my favorites requires 212 degrees while another requires 175.
Part of my quandary: My sister and her husband may be staying with us and an electric kettle would make life easier.
Must rationalize.
Anyway, browsing is a terrible time vampire.

Well, there has been other browsing...
This was a link in an article I was reading this morning.
Tilda Swinton's Spaniels Are A Lot To Handel
This is something I would have loved my late sister to see. I hope she can from where she's sitting.
