@aprilskies Great job on your No Buy November!! I am definitely going to do a No-Buy in Beauty Products again for Lent in 2019. (I can't do the whole year, but Lent is easy for me to do a no-buy--religious guilt). I probably need to extend my no-buy this coming Lent to clothing, too.
@momoftwo2007, Wasn’t I just going on how I didnt buy anything. I should know better on being too quick to talk. Well, I ended up buying a liquid foundation. I dont have a liquid foundation and wanted something for the winter because my skin is so dry in the winter. The beauties on this forum were sharing the 60% off sale at Eve Pearl so I ordered her HD Creme Foundation. However, I only ordered what I needed and I ordered an item that if I like it, I am willing to pay the full price for. Truthfully I should have ordered the light too just in case, but didnt do it. I don’t want to start adding a lot of products. Keeping my fingers crossed on this one.
But that was my only beauty purchase this month. I have to say, in the last 15 years or so, this is the least I have spent on beauty in the month of November.
I think instead of a no buy in 2019, I will do a very low buy. I think it works better for me. But, a true low buy. I will have to think about this once I see how December goes. It sure is tough this time of year.
@aprilskies I think what you did was great-- getting what you needed and at a discounted price. That is wonderful. And I think a low buy is a very realistic way to go.

Yeah, I went ahead and stole @Oshare-girl's idea about restocking on Black Friday. Except I waited until Cyber Monday to buy two Paula's Choice cleansers. I actually had no backups and the price was right.
There. I've contributed to the season's economic numbers.
Just wait until the plumber shows up on Monday.

@momoftwo2007, thanks, I surprised myself really. That was a great discount and an opportunity to try a few things, but I stuck to my plans.
I agree, I think a low buy is more realistic. But, a true low buy. I have a way of rationalizing every thing out.
December is up next.

Well, Ladies, I really cant believe the holidays are upon us. We are just barrelling ahead. I am looking forward to Christmas, I am going to have a little time off and think I will use it for a little decluttering of sorts.
I want to begin my book declutter, either by reading them and decluttering or realizing I am never going to read them and just declutter. Those 1000 page books, I am looking at you. I have a few of those.
I am going to try and use my time productively. I sometimes get so lazy when I have a staycation so I am going to try and stay as structured as my mind allows me. I suspect, I will take the first few days to just decompress.
I am looking forward to my time off but dont want it to come too quickly even though I wish it was here already. It is giving me something to look forward to.
Have a nice day, Everyone.

I am looking forward to this weekend. I think my focus will be on decluttering a bit since i am feeling inspired. Nothing major, but it is time to donate some yoga/althetic type pants. Some of them are the bell bottom style that I no longer wear and others I just simply dont reach for, for one reason or another. Also, it is time to go though my tshirts/v neck type of t's. Some are just so old and I only wear them at bedtime or around home, but it is time to cut them into rags (how many can you have) and/or just toss them. Rags most likely. At least then you can clean something messy and then just toss if needed. I suppose you can never have to many.
I dont know. I am starting to feel iike I want to get things finally in order to some degree. I know I wont be able to do it all by the New Year but I really want to start the New Year in a good place instead of trying to always get there.
I have always said that I didnt really want to start replacing furniture until I moved because then I can get rid of things, make the move easier, and just start fresh. But it looks like i am going to be here another year or so, so subconsciously i have started the replacing.
I have ordered a new dining/kitchen table. I found a good sale so I went for it. I do like my table now but it is heavy and I just cant move it and I am starting not to like heavy furniture that is unmanageable. I dont always want help in doing certain things. Plus, this table has the glass cutouts and while it looks pretty, I am soooooooooooooo tired of having to remove the glass to clean when things fall in between. And it is amazing what builds up. These days I really just want simple and functional without too much effort to keep something maintained.
I am working on a few more changes as well.
Growing older is interesting. LOL. How weird the different stages of life are mentailly. I seem to come to realizations and just want things done and am doing things that werent even on my agenda at the moment. I am loving it to some degree because I am making changes, for better or worse. Stuff I have been thinking about for far too long.
My health is next on the list. I need to make a committment. Why is this so hard when it is the best gift you can give yourself. It is crazy. But I have been feeling pretty crappy lately and I fear I am causing myself problems. So, I need to put a weekly meal plan together and stick to it as much as I can. I figured what would work best is a 80/20 rule. 80% healthy stuff and 20% whatever. ....and moderation. You would think I dont know the meaning of the word. By the end of December I am attempting to have most of the junk gone either by finishing, donating and taking things in to work. People love snacks in the afternoon.
I think this post may come off more serious than intended. Maybe I am feeling the new year is around the corner and I dont feel that I moved the needle much in what I wanted to accomplish this year. ....or maybe, I just want next year to be different. So tired of worrying about the same ole things. I cant change everything but I can change some things and those are what I need to work on.
Anyway, I need to run. I am sure this post is long enough. ![]()

Yeah, I've got my eye on Plutarch's Lives. Is it a book or a doorstop? Acquired that one in either '83 or '84. Of course now in 2018 I doubt I'll be able to lift it off the shelf.
But the plumber will be here on Monday and the floor they'll be tearing apart is covered in books. I was thinking I could part with fiction, then move the ones on the floor to the shelves I've pruned.
Or not.

Think of it as a dress rehearsal.

It's the final day of the month and that's probably a good thing because this week was... well, unexpected with consequences.
But I have all next week and probably beyond to worry about that.
Glad November is over. It wasn't a bad month, but this week was... uh...
Time to get ready to sleep.

Once again, I could have written most of your post myself. I certainly can relate to all of it.
Truthfully, I’m not in the mood right now to elaborate, and I’m sure none of you care to hear me whining about what, in the grand scheme of things, is puny.
But I think you sum up a lot of my feelings now at the end of your post:
” ...or maybe, I just want next year to be different. So tired of worrying about the same ole things. I cant change everything but I can change some things and those are what I need to work on....”
So very true for me. I spend so much time worrying and thinking about things I have no control over, yet the things I can do something about I ignore, much to my own eventual detriment. Time to reverse that.
Or at least give it a better try.
