Have you considered switching to tea?
I have...but thought about you, LOL. I do have a small stash of tea that I drink when I run out of coffee. I should drink more green tea. I'll consider it.
I should, too, but for years it's tasted like dishwater. I have a few from Harney & Sons and I've incorporated more green into my routine. A little less caffeine, but a lot less staining.
H&S makes some tasty ones. I like their Tropical Green.
To create Tropical Green, we've combined some of our finest hand-picked green teas from China into a beautiful mélange with a smooth palate, bright aromas, and vibrant pineapple character. A superb tropical twist on traditional green tea equally suited to satisfying old cravings and new indulgences alike. Enjoy fresh-steeped and hot as a complement to breakfast, or savor as an icy treat when summer comes.
Also Bangkok.
The rich flavors of Bangkok, Thailand are the inspiration for this tasty blend that combines green tea, lemongrass, vanilla, coconut and ginger. Also known as Green Tea with Coconut, Ginger & Vanilla. Kosher.
Ingredients:
Green tea, lemongrass, coconut flavor, vanilla flavor, ginger flavor. Contains natural flavors.
And Organic Green with Citrus & Gingko.
Based on a hand-picked organic green tea from Southern India, our refreshing Organic Green with Citrus & Ginkgo blend delivers the benefits associated with green tea and ginkgo. It features a dash of lemongrass and the bright taste of natural citrus.
Ingredients:
Organic green tea, organic lemongrass, organic ginkgo, organic citrus oil, natural citrus flavor.
And Cherry Blossom.
Try our Cherry Blossom blend of green teas and the vibrant flavor of plump, fragrant cherries. Inspired by an April visit to Tokyo, it's like a springtime awakening of the senses. Available only in our tin of 20 tea sachets, or loose tea sample.

I can't believe we're going to have to start thinking of a J-word for June.

@Oshare-girl, glad to hear you are okay and not affected. I cant believe what is going on in Hawaii. That is just crazy. I cant imagine having hot lava come down the street. I feel for those folks.
@Just bee - how is your decluttering going?
@geezerette - I hope you are doing well. How is the monster dog? Still watching over you?
To all the new posters - welcome. I hope you continue to post. I love to read everyone's stories. It always helps.

I have been decluttering here and there. I always have a bag at the ready and drop things in there as I go. So, nothing overly major. However, yesterday, smack dab in the middle of my shower, I felt this overwhelming pain in the middle of my back, it hurt to breathe. I managed to finish the rest of my shower, however, it was painful and I couldnt understand what just happened. It came on suddenly. As I stood there for a moment trying to decide if it was something serious where I needed to go to the emergency room or not, I felt completely overwhelmed by all my stuff. I still have boxes here and there in my bedroom when I emptied my bookcase and other things as well on my long bureau. In that moment, I could see the beauty of minimalism. And by minimalism, i dont mean, owning 50 things only and everything being white. But, less things, loved or needed, but it their place. It turns out it was back pain and I spent most of the day on my heating pad. Not fun.
Anyway, it gave me the motivation to start organizing, decluttering, etc but why does it always seem like I make more of a mess when I start to do it. It is the craziest thing. Well, then I just let things be and starting looking through all my video games I bought for my nephews for when they would come over when they were little. I have a ton, a ton. So, I only kept very few and decided to see what the rest would go for. I dont mind selling the little stuff like that. However, how incredibly depressing. They went for nothing. NOTHING. Of course, i kinda knew that already because these are xbox 360 games and the world has moved on to xbox one. So, I put them back where I found them. I think I will see about finding a kids home and donate them there.
It turned out that it was just back pain but it really made me realize not to put off until tomorrow what I can do today. Will this aha moment last, I dont know, but I do need to get serious if I ever want to have my environment as I want it.

It was starting to get a little tense around here. Every time I came home from work more of my things were in the donation pile. I don't support the removal of framed art.
So I did what I do when I feel like I'm being pushed. I dig in my heels and resist. I had been clearing out closets and then when BH started taking down all the art and nagging, I stopped everything.
He backed off a little and yesterday we loaded the back of his truck and took a ton of stuff to Animal Humane. I even pulled three leather bombers out of the hall closet.
But there were a couple days when I was going to make like he was a baby seal and club him.

It has to be something you want to do, not something you think you should do.
I'm looking at the wall where we had, for years, a framed print. I liked it and I liked the way it "made" that corner of the room. It matched everything. It just worked.
But BH wanted it gone and, since it was his, it went. Does that corner look better? No, not at all. I just don't see the point.

But at least I have a new apple to look forward to.

Hope your back is feeling better. Nothing like an injury or illness to change your perspective. I sometimes imagine the worst and try to picture one of us needing EMS to come in with a gurney. It's not that the house is that crowded. It's what my mother saw when I showed her the house plan.
She thought there were too many weird angles in the house. That and long narrow halls.
Right now we're trying to figure out how to get a heavy wall unit out of the house. I like it, it works and I don't want to see it go. BH hates it and has it in pieces.
At this point he doesn't want to donate it -- he wants it in landfill.
I'm still not seeing the point.

It is freeing when you get things out of the house. This past weekend our community sponsored a free recycle day. I actually got Hubby to help me get some things out of the house. I took 3 analog TVs (one was 130 lbs), 2 printers, 1 desktop computer, 1 laptop. I also took an Xbox that had the red ring from years ago that was no good and as I was carrying it out of the house Hubby was still claiming he could fix it. Oh, did I give you the impression that it was easy?? Ha Ha. It wasn't fun and games. Hubby complained the whole time something about wasted $$, blah blah....... I have reconized that I am a hoarder, but Hubby is 10x worse. At least he did help me load up the truck, but refused to go with me to actually get rid of the stuff. The problem with this scenrio is that you open up space in your home, but when everyone in the home is not on board it actually just leaves you with more room to store more stuff. I will be watching this and not let more things get accumluated in the now emptied spaces. It's baby steps.
