Trust me, both Carla and I did our best to discourage the little guy, especially Carla. But he made it almost a half-mile down the road and up the drive. And despite the fact she kept trying to eat him, he just kept coming. Lasted the whole day amidst people and noise, just curled up happy to be with everybody.
I knew I was doomed when at 4 am the next morning Carla went crazy. I looked out my bedroom window and there he was, meowing away. He had travelled several thousand yards through the woods and around the house to my window.
How could I say no after that?

You couldn't. Like I said... there's a reason.

Well, talk about things happening for a reason...
I don't drink soda. If I'm going to drink something carbonated it's going to have hops and barley in it. Better-half doesn't drink soda, either, but for some reason we had cans of cola in the pantry and on a shelf in the kitchen island.
I noticed today that cans had leaked. This has happened before. It's not like a can is punctured; no, it just loses its contents.
I removed all the cans and poured the cola that was left down the drain. But the shelves are now buckled and moldy.
I found myself taking things out of the pantry and island and I discovered some really ancient items. Mostly baking stuff. BH hasn't baked anything in years.
Anyway, cut to the chase.
I filled up a bag and took it out to the trash receptacle. As I turned to go back into the house I saw it. I called BH: "Quick! Quick, quick, quick!!!"
Had to really emphasize the quick part because this thing was changing every second.
What was it?
A circumhorizontal arc!
Sometimes it's called a fire rainbow.
These are examples I found online. Cool, huh?
And that's one of the five things I like about New Mexico. The sky.

It's 88 degrees, breezy, with 15% humidity. And I saw a circumhorizontal arc.
I'll probably never see that again.

Just rub it in.

Yeah, but I'll probably never see rain again, either. ![]()
