I realized today is the start of no more excuses. Uh oh. 🍎🍌🍅🥦🥒 are my light, 🍟🍕🍦🍰🍩 are my darkness. Go to the light, go to the light.......GO TO THE LIGHHHHHHT!!!!!! Rah rah
However, I do have a question. Why do 🍟🍕🍦🍰🍩 have to be bad for you? That is just evil. 😤
Define "bad."
I still don't believe in giving things up (although I think I gave up white cheddar cheese popcorn) and I certainly won't give up pizza. My mother lived on it when she was pregnant with me: Pizza is my destiny. It's in my DNA. I am one with pizza.
But I'm eating less of it as I get older because I have less patience with inferior pizza. I used to believe that even a bad pizza is good because it's still pizza. But there really are bad pizzas out there. And there's no excuse for that.
Find a pizza that works for you. Maybe a lighter crust, maybe more vegetables. Maybe not every day.
I can't remember the last time I had fries. But I'm pretty sure they were at home and they came out of the oven. Some frozen organic seasoned product that was a healthier option and tasty enough to satisfy that craving for the greasy, overly salted stuff out there.
Why is everything so salty? We didn't go to our butcher for a Christmas ham and bought a spiral-cut from Costco. BH and I have agreed that we don't even want to see another ham for at least six months. That means no ham for Easter.
In college it wasn't unusual for me to eat a German chocolate cake or cheesecake for dinner. I can't imagine doing that today. I told BH I didn't want any Italian cookies a few weeks ago but I ended up with a dozen when we went to buy sausage and bread. I made that dozen last all through the holiday. There was a time they wouldn't have survived the trip home from the bakery.
I still believe if you avoid the processed foods and choose better quality ingredients, you can still enjoy the foods you love. I still eat green chile cheeseburgers but the ones we make at home are made with better, healthier ingredients.
You control what comes into the house. You've got the power. You can do this.

I made my trip to the Salvation Army yesterday, man, what a zoo! It wa so crowded, unlike anything I've ever seen, people had their shopping carts piled 4-5 feet high with clothes and I had to wait in line to even try anything on. I'd never seen that place like that before. But, I stuck it out for a bit and did end up bringing home 2 pairs of jeans, 6 pairs of pants for work and 5 tops. I would have liked to have looked more but it took me almost 2 hours to get that and I was pretty frazzled so I just stopped there. Set me back all of $13, so it was worth the trip. Even got a nice pair of Levi's for $1. Hubby took the kids back in the evening and they got another 9 things between the 3 of them. I think I figured I got $138 (Salvation Army prices) for $22. I had hoped to get some more sweaters and long sleeved tops too but I simply ran out of steam. They have so much to go thru even on a regular day it takes forever, add in the crowd and I was pooped. We have another nice thrift store in town that's a lot smaller, I think I'll check that one out in the next few weeks and see if I can find anything else. But I do feel a lot better, at least I got a few things so I'm not wearing the same 5 pairs of pants every week. Now to get it all washed and put away, that will have to wait until tomorrow. Plus it will be a good time to thru the closet, maybe try on a few tops and see if I still really want to keep them or not. I know I have things in there I haven't worn in a long time. I don't know if I'll wear them now or not, now that I'm wearing street clothes to work. Time to re-evaluate.

Also forgot to mention, I think I found someone to give my kids toys to. My hubby has a friend who has kids smaller than ours and he said they'd take them. So I'll give a few things to my friend from church and he'll give the rest to his friend. I'm hoping they'll be out of the house soon, I have a total of 5 assorted size boxes, plus a large fire engine and 3 boxes of play dough sets. Can't wait to see all that gone too! The kids have actually inspired me to take another pass at my own belongings, they've done such a good job paring down their own stuff.

Well, I just realized that I replied to several posts in the December thread. Hmm...maybe my first resolution of the new year should be to pay more attention to what I’m doing!
And I thought I was starting 2018 out better—that didn’t last long!🤪😂

LMBO. I think I followed your lead without even realizing it. That is why I thought some posts were deleted. Too funny, @geezerette. See what a lemming I am. Perhaps this is one personality trait I can work on. LOL

Well, now that we're all on the same page... ![]()
I have to take a nap so I can work tonight. But I did toss my old, degraded tote bag!

It’s just not fair, is it? I’ve lived on all those evil things for sixty-plus years, why can’t I go on living on them? 😩
Maybe because I’ve lived on them for sixty-plus years, and if I continue to do so, I won’t go on living. At least not in any condition that I’d be able to handle.😵

The voice of reason.
Yes, I probably can do this. No, I KNOW I can do this. The power of positive thinking.💪🏼
(I just don’t have to like it. And I reserve the right to b*tch about it at every chance I get. And probably will.)😉
