Ha! I was just stalking again and guess what's back on Ulta's site? The Sisu cream. It's not on sale, but it might be at some point...
And I avoid CVS. Their prices are outrageous. ![]()

@geezerette- I think that's what I'm going to try to do with food for now at least. Try to substitute some healthier foods for junk, crackers for chips, yogurt for pudding, apples and bananas if they'll eat them. I've already noticed their enthusiasm waning. They were really gung ho a couple of weeks ago, but I still have bananas and yogurt left from the store last weekend.

@just bee, lol. I never heard of that one. I might need to check it out at one point especially if it goes on sale. Did someone say sale? 😀. Especially at Ulta, might as well build up the points.
I completely agree about scent and texture. It has to be enjoyable.
Yes, I won’t go back to cvs for this kind of stuff. I learned my lesson.

@just bee-I can't even imagine how hard those Maybelline red eyeliners must be. I remember being a teenager having to use a lighter to soften the ends of them before we could even apply them. How crazy was that?
Maybe I'm just being too picky, but I have a couple of Physicians Formula liners that glide on so smoothly, I can't hardly even tell that I'm touching my eye. They're great, I love them. That's why I bought so many of them, different colors, but the more recent ones aren't that good. Neither is anything else I've been able to find. They're ok, just not quite as good. Maybe they're old, maybe I need to sharpen them down some to get the old part off and see if they're softer underneath. I haven't tried that yet.

@just bee-my boys are 9 and 12, so they haven't really discovered girls yet. Older son is just starting to show an interest in girls so he might be more motivated to make some changes. I am not a great chef, and I'll admit, I don't really like to cook. So I'm not the best role model for him. But I think that's partly what's so frustrating. I don't make exotic meals, I don't try to serve them unusual foods. But I still fight with them because they don't eat so many "normal" things, like ketchup!

I missed my opportunity to repurchase it when Walgreens had their recent Lumene clearance. I put items in the online shopping cart, scolded myself for "stocking up" again and went to bed. In the morning, several items had disappeared from my cart because they'd sold out. The Sisu cream was one of them.
I pouted for 30 seconds, then ordered extra jars of Glow Reveal. I'm resilient that way. ![]()

@rnmom, My one brothers kids are so much like yours. Extremely picky. It’s such a shame how they limit themselves. I tell them all the time. But, it is challenging for my brother. He is at a loss most of the time. He will make food thinking they will like it and they end up not touching it. They would starve before eating something they either don’t like or are not in the mood for. All he can do is keep trying.
I am so glad I liked most things as a kid. Food can be fun. And I ate some weird things. But, you know, I had my snubs. Like brains and intestines. I drew the line. 🤣 Intestine soup is traditional on the eve of Easter. Um, no thank you, mom. More for you. Only maybe one kid liked it. She learned not to make it after awhile.
But kids do miss out on a lot when they are so picky.

@just bee- Ulta just sent out an e-mail for 20% off the entire site. Did you get that?

This is funny because you'll remember this conversation when they come home with crushes.
Don't feel bad about ketchup. I think most of them are mostly high fructose corn syrup anyway. I remember my mother was a ketchup artist at hamburger time. She'd draw a picture with ketchup on my burger bun with Heinz.
Now I rarely use ketchup. I like fresh tomatoes on hamburgers and hot dogs. And I think I prefer mustard or malt vinegar to ketchup on my fries when I have them.
They hate tomatoes, don't they? Kids get weird when they enter adolescence. I remember my stepfather would watch what I'd choose to eat when I was a teenager and he'd shake his head, look at my mother and say: "Weird kid."
And then one day he started to try some of the things I was eating like curry, sautéed chicken livers and bubblegum ice cream. Never called me weird again.
Probably still thought it, of course...
But their tastes may change dramatically in a few years. My mother was the queen of reverse psychology. If she made it seem like it was something I wouldn't like, I would be compelled to try it. It got to the point where I'd try anything just to prove that I could.
