Re: ComPact 2018 – Declutter December

Well, I finished the moisturizer I have been enjoying this morning. I have no intention of replacing it since I have few other moisturizers to use up.

I have also moved a few other skincare products out. It really helps to focus and stay consistent. It takes a while to get through things but consistency is definitiely key. It is so satisfying to toss an empty container of something you actually use up.

I have a few more products that should be gone soon too.  Why is it when you get down to the bottom of these bottles, it seems like the product mulitples.

@momoftwo2007, enjoy your purchases. This time of year is tough if you are trying to be good but it is also a good time to purchase things you want.  The prices and kits available this time of year cant be beat.

All I know is I have to start making a dent in my teas. I have a slew of them now.  I probably should start having a cup of tea at night. Right now I started working on my cocoa collection. I have been making a cup for the last few nights.  Yes, I have ton of cocoa too. Woman Sad

@aprilskies

Hmmm.  How do we get you to drink more tea?  I tend to drink a lot of it when I wake up.  That's what starts my day.

Are you still drinking coffee?

@just bee, yes, I am still drinking coffee, I really like it. I am not looking to give that up. I have reduced it to two cups a days for most days, there are exceptions.

I remembered to bring some cinnamon spice to work with me.  I actually really enjoy that one. The first cup I thought was too sweet, but it tastes perfect now. I wouldnt mind a backup of that. Woman LOL

@aprilskies

I've been drinking a lot of Hot Cinnamon Spice and ended up ordering two more bags.  You'll get hooked.

I also ordered Hot Apple Spice.  Speaking of apples, my latest discovery:

SnapDragon

Snacky!

Hope the apple tea tastes like apples!

@just bee- I am all set on foundation, at least for now. The Aquasmooth isn't "perfect", but it's the best I've found so far. Some days it seems like towards the end of the day it looks a little orange on me, not horrible, but just a tad. That's why I was trying a different shade to begin with.

But it's good enough that I'm not going to fuss with anything new right now. By the time I finish the 2 I have, plus my BB cream and my Everyday Minerals, maybe by then I'll see if I feel like looking for something else. But done for a while at least. One less thing to worry about.

I hope whatever is concerning you gets resolved quickly. Such a bummer to have worries hanging over your head, especially this time of year.

'Tis the season.  Last year was similar what with the broken hand and tooth.  Just focusing on getting through it.

Like you, I have my CC cream so that's something I don't have to think about for a year.

@just bee, well, of course, withdrawal and sale, um, YES!! That is a "need" buy. Woman LOL

Interesting about the dragon tea, @just bee, I have only had this once and am reserving comment until I give it a fair try. I wasnt thrilled with my first cup but have learned to really try something out before claiming I dont like it. I will give it a try at bedtime and see if I see any benefits at least.

Oh no, another tea junkie in the making.

You are making me want a cup of the cinnamon spice and I dont have any withe me. Woman Sad

@aprilskies

Well, I took advantage of their current sale and special offers and I think I came out all right.  I've been putting a real dent in the collection and will even donate a few empty tins.

The Dragon Pearl Jasmine gets points for fragrance.  It's probably the best jasmine I've had.  It's relaxing.

Sometimes they grow on you.  Look at my sister and the Ginger Liquorice. Woman Wink

@aprilskies Is the jasmine pearl tea too strong, too floral? Try steeping it for a shorter time. I find that it tends to get sharp the longer it steeps.

@aprilskies

Do you remember when you were little and you felt so uncomfortable but you couldn't express it?  Like maybe your mom dressed you up in one of those stiff dresses or wool pants and sweater and you just wanted to get out of that and feel normal again?

The level of discomfort and frustration just made you want to cry, then scream until it stopped?

I felt that way yesterday.  I came home from work and napped and then woke up after a few hours and was so irritable I couldn't stand myself or anything around me.  It was like fabric on a sunburn.

I finally had to sit down and browse online.  I looked at different brands of colorful socks.  Still irritable.  Then I looked at cosmetics.  Mostly eyeshadow and blush.

I felt better and was able to go back to sleep.

But the prices!  Some of these sites were practically giving the stuff away.  I was tempted by Physicians Formula until I noticed that the heavily discounted items were all out of stock.

So, yeah.  It's probably a good time to stock up if you need something.

Re: ComPact 2018 – Declutter December

@just bee- I don't generally shop at individual websites, just Ulta and Vitacost. But I was briefly browsing on Ulta last night and noticed some pretty good sales on their website. I don't need anything just yet, but I'm really tempted to place an order for some items to stock up on too, just because the prices are so low. Cleansers, mascara, face wipes, hairspray, etc. Items that I know will need to be purchased within the next few months anyway. I need to browse a bit more and see if any of my staples are on a good discount, or if it's just the holiday items.

I don't want to buy any makeup because I will continue to use what I have here. I actually tossed 2 more eyeliners, another loose eyeshadow and a blush. I'm trying to pare down my makeup items to what I really enjoy and want to use this coming year. I'm hoping by this time next year I'll be ready to buy some new makeup items.

Re: ComPact 2018 – Declutter December

@rnmom

I'm still sitting on my hands because I really want to polish off those old shadows and blushes before I replace them.  Looking at next year for that.

I don't know why part of me still wants to find that ONE product line that does it all.  That's just not reality.

And when I finally decide to replace, I'm going to have to do it in a brick & mortar so I can see the colors in my hand and not on a screen.
