I'm on day 9 of revolution yoga (yogawithadriene).  It's not a great workout but so grounding.  Also great stretching.  The combination of daily devotions and yoga has been great for my body and mind.  I've been getting some good sleep.  Check out Adriene on YT.  She's sweet and calming.  I've tried some of her other videos and enjoyed them.

@Oshare-girl

I'm checking out her site and I see "30 Days of Yoga."  Must investigate...

Another apple opportunity!

I had given the Koru a big thumbs up but the downside was that I was only able to buy them once.  They disappeared quickly.  Now I have another apple: Rave.  It's a cross between a Honeycrisp and a MonArk.

I think your "urge to purge" is contagious!  I woke up this morning with an overwhelming desire to toss about 3/4's of my "wardrobe" (I use the term loosely), and keep just my favorite well-worn and comfy go-to clothes.

I had to be content with just moving the offending items to the back of the closet for now.  After all, when it hits 95 degrees again--probably tomorrow(!)--I'll need all of them.

@geezerette, the feeling is crazy, isnt it, so now I try and pull myself back. You are smart to put them in the back of your closet. Since I did a major declutter, I put things in the donation bag as I wear them and realize it is not for me for one reason or another.  Washed first, of course.

The trick is now not to get to square one again. I have been on a bit of a buying spree.  I simply could not fit into my clothes anymore so it was necessary but now, I think I am a fashionista. Call up to the conductor, it is time to stop the train.

@aprilskies Thought you might be interested in the beauty blender eyeshadow tip.  It gave new life to my palettes.  Well, it made me excited to try out the new method and get some use out of my eyeshadows.

@Oshare-girlI saw that trick on the other thread but didnt pay much attention, but now I will try it since you seem to love it. I dont have any small blenders, a ton of big ones, but I will try it anyway and pick up the small ones when I can.  Do you use them wet or dry or both?

I also picked up a trick for some of the loose BE shadows I have.  It is to use a eyeshadow applicator, the sponge type you get in the eye palettes.  I havent tried it yet but I think I will try the blender trick with these as well.  I am starting to toss some BE products. There is just no way I am ever going to use all of this stuff.

I am going to start wearing mu again now that summer is over and let you know how it works out.  I do love my brushes but this sounds like it would be easy.

@aprilskies I was surprised how well it worked because, when you think about it, it's just like one huge sponge tip applicator that I usually toss in the trash.  I only have the big BB too, for now.  I use it dry.  I try to only use the tip of it and just rotate it as I use different colors.  I've been able to do a 4-color eye look with it in under a minute.  It blends like a dream. So fast and easy.  And no fallout cause it gets stuck to the sponginess of the BB.

I'm sure I'll want to use my brushes now and then.  And there are more fine-tuned eyelooks that will need brushes.  But for a quick everyday look, this is great.

I bet it would work really well with the loose BE shadows!  Wish I had heard of this back in the day when I had a ton of those loose powders.

Let me know if you try it.  It was a fun experiment for me.

LOL, what a cutie!

I'm on day 10 of Revolution Yoga.  After I finish all 31 days, I want to go back and try the 30 days of Yoga series.  I've done some of her power yoga stuff and that really works up a sweat.  Doing daily yoga is showing me how weak my wrists are.  They hurt already after only 30 minutes a day.  I need to build them up.

@Oshare-girlI will try this later on tonight and see how it goes. Yes, it would be interesting to see how it would work with the BE shadows. Especially with the ones that are too sheer depending on the type of brush used.

I do love my brushes but my collection is next on my hit list. I tried to do it once before but just couldnt part with many, although I did donate a few. I have some expensive brushes that I have barely used. So, either I need to starting putting them to use or try and sell them. I dont mind trying to sell my brushes as they are small. I hate the process though. I have to go through them next time I am feeling ruthless.

Re: ComPact 2017 – Sensible September!

It is so funny about cats and exercising.  What is it they find so intriguing?  Usually mine are sniffing my face as to see if I am alive when I am on the floor doing stretches, under my feet when I am trying to do some step aerobics and yesterday, I was doing deadlifts(trying anyway) and my one cat comes to sniff the weight. Um, really.  Can you go and do what kitties do before I drop this on your head. But, they run and hide every time I take out the trash. Go figure.

Exercising at home isnt fruitful. You got to love them though.

Re: ComPact 2017 – Sensible September!

Yay!!!!

So the Lumene CC cream from Dermstore showed up and the expiration date is 1/2019.  (Yeah... sure it is...)

I won't quibble.  I'll take it.

Anyway, they threw in a free sample of Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum.  I got very excited!  Not because I want this stuff, but because I was able to read and comprehend the French on the package.

Always amazes me that I can remember stuff from my formative years.

Who am I again?

Did anyone else take that battery of tests in elementary school?  Or was that just a diabolical Chicago Public Schools system plan?

Those were the tests that determined your "group."  Somehow I ended up in the group that studied French.  I was bitter and resentful because I wanted to be in the Arts and Crafts group.  I don't know where the kids in the third group ended up -- I never saw them again.

But every now and then the language comes back to me.  But I still can't watch Amour without subtitles.

Really wish they had offered Italian.
