Uh-oh. Is that the sound of ComPactors falling off the bandwagon? Temptation still rears its head: I find that I can "resist" when I put off the purchase for a day. Then another. Then another. Eventually I manage to forget what I was going to buy -- that thing I was convinced I needed so desperately. Yup. Sometimes that actually works.
I had talked myself out of those two pairs of sale shoes several times. They'll sell out and that will solve my problem, I said. But they didn't. They stayed on the sale page for weeks until I finally caved. The next day most of the sizes had sold out. If only I'd waited another 24 hours! (But I've actually been wearing these shoes and I love them. Even the pair that squeaks incessantly.)
Just as long as they don't put the red ones on sale...
Thud it was. It is the call of the siren. I was doing so incredibly good. I cant believe it. The bright side (creativity hahahaha) is that my purchase made me pull out other things I wasnt using and use them. I have been enjoying using my mu lately so hopefully this will last. I am getting the itchy fingers so I have to pull it back some. Someone mention rabbit hole.
Those red shoes are purty and fun. Tell Alegria no more sales for a while.
I should probably turn my focus to shoes. I really need shoes but for some reason dont want to go shop for them. I have such a hard time with finding comfortable dress shoes. But, I am now desperate.
The Alegria Pescas are comfortable, too! But Alegria closeout shoes are available every day on the website. One way to avoid temptation is to avoid the Alegria email. It's amazing how many pairs I've talked myself out of over the years.
If you do find a comfortable dress shoe, jump on it. Buy more than one pair. I need to prune my shoe collection again. I've donated quite a few pairs and I can't say I've missed them. Now that I'm accustomed to comfortable shoes, I bet I could try on old pairs and find them impossibly uncomfortable. They should go away because they won't be worn.
Like, why do I still have so many pairs of heels? I really don't wear heels anymore because I walk like a flamingo in heels. Bad look.

Well I talked myself out of buying the Too Faced TS....but then somehow their really nice bronzer, blush palette, and a fun OPI polish got checked out. I thought about it before going to bed and cancelled it all. Reason for the change in heart was I wanted to get the IT TSV instead LOL.
so now the THUD is official for me. Bought the IT TSV but I know I would want to buy the new items at a later date to try them out so my "reasoning" was this is the cheapest way to try it now. Yep, gotta love how we justify the purchase.
I did also go to Ulta on mission to get the OPI polish I saw on HSN. It's super pretty pastel blue shade from their new line. They had Zoya polish on clearance - have always seen the raves here but never tried them. I picked up 2 colors that I don't have anything similar at home. They will look great on my fingers and toes! It was my first polish purchase in months? If not a year+? So I've been very good narrowing those purchases.
Easy way to avoid regret: Use the new items and enjoy them! I bought socks and I'm enjoying them so much! Comfortable and they don't self-destruct after washing. A daily dose of joy.

At this point, if I was to find really comfortable stylish shoes, I would get a few pairs. I got rid of most of my shoes, either the heel was too high or they were uncomfortable. They were out. I still have some that are uncomfortable but I will do around round later. My feet have definitely changed over the years. I went to put on a pair of booties this year and the whole shoe felt wrong. I was sad to see them go. They were quality but what is the point if I cant wear them. It is funny how our perspective changes over the years.

You did good. I was so jonesing for a new shadow palette, why, I dont know, and this was just too good of a deal to pass up. I almost cancelled but decided not too. I also got another compact of the chocolate bronzer since I found a coupon code for 15 bucks off 75 so I added the bronzer with the brush. I really do like the color of the bronzer so I will use it.
The IT tsv was tempting. I love her brushes but I passed on it since I have the full powder compact and dont wear much blush. That brush was tempting though. I agree with Just Bee, as long as you use and enjoy it, the purchase is a good one. Enjoy it and let us know what you think of it when you receive it and had a chance to try it out.
I go back and forth on trying to pan some mu items but I think I am just going to abandon that notion and just enjoy what I have. If it goes bad in the meantime, then it does. I am trying to pan some older items but then the new ones are getting old and it is a vicious cycle. So, tonight I rearranged my mu to make it easier to use in the morning. I didnt finish but I will. I have been enjoying my collection lately and hope I can stick with it.

She has a 'boo-boo' on her toe, so we're not walking her until it heals. Minor wound, not sure exactly what happened, but she ripped off a couple of layers of foot pad which left raw skin. Other than that, she's doing well, finally calming down some and destroying any type of landscaping we had.
I could loan her out to you, she does a killer job of pruning bushes--literally.
If I added up all the past tense plants that were pruned by past dogs... my Boxer nuzzled all my nandina to death. My Boxer/Dalmatian dug up my Japanese maple daily. She and her brother sat and watched me and Better-half lovingly place hundreds of dollars' worth of newly purchased plants in the ground one day. We were invited to dinner that night and decided to leave them in the yard to enjoy a summer evening outdoors. We wouldn't be gone long...
They dug up every plant and ate most of them. The added bonus? They had the runs for days and destroyed our carpet, too.
What did I call them? God's most perfect creatures? Just have to remind yourself from time to time. Your poor perfect creature probably hurt herself digging up your water pipes. Check your bill -- STAT! (Then give her a big hug. They're not with us very long. But the damage they leave behind is forever!)
You're in my head again! When we got our last water bill my old geezer said he was sure we hadn't used that much water and that we must have a leak in the pipes somewhere. You just might be right about the dog!
And you're also right about them not being around long. A few months ago I couldn't wait until she grew up and settled down. Now that she's starting to do just that, I'm already picturing her as an old lady. I'm never satisfied.

We had a malfunctioning toilet in the guest bathroom: Our water bill doubled a couple months ago. The recent yardwork has led to a lot of watering and I dread the next bill. They dug giant moats around each tree and told us to fill them with water every three days for three weeks. The trees look wonderful, but...
My dog is growing old. It just sort of happened recently. A few white whiskers and then a slowing down. More naps. He smells different. His coat's changing. I'm terrified. I've gone through this process more times than I'd like, but this one is going to be... I don't know what I'm going to do.

We know more with each one, which makes their presence so much more enjoyable while they're with us. But it makes the parting even worse each time. The older I get myself, the more I see that old age is just another stage of life to be enjoyed during the good times and tolerated during the rough ones. I know you're enjoying him now, deal with the rest later, when you must. You have lots of memories yet to make.
