Really! Then you have a beautiful girl! I always thought Rotties fell into two categories: Pig and bear. Looks like you have a bear. I prefer the bears.

I need to find an activity that keeps me busy. Idle time gets me in trouble.
I hope everyone had a nice Easter.
May I suggest (free) bird cams? Every other hobby seems to cost money! (The Texas barn owls have three eggs now! And, in Indiana, Mr. Barred Owl has been delivering crayfish to Mrs. Barred Owl. Riveting, I tell you.)
Don't forget the baby eagle cams in Washington D.C. I can't remember offhand where they are exactly, but they've been on the national news lately.
There are also eagle nests in Hanover, PA, in Minnesota, in Florida and on the Berry College campus. The Berry eaglets are getting HUGE.

Yes, you may. I think this is where I need to turn my attention. Great idea. And I will be a big girl this year and not whimp out on the "nature" stuff.

I find humans to be much more brutal than nature stuff. Except, that is, when my cat deposits a dead baby bunny on my doorstep.

Remember not to worry. My husband says having our kids pay for part of their education is a good thing. He calls it having some skin in the game.
When I decided to work in a hospital and start nursing school, taking one class at a time, my coworkers mocked me. They said I'd never finish school at that pace. Two nursing degrees later, the techs I worked with are still techs. They have failed class after class, flunked out and have changed schools repeatedly. They've run out of nursing schools at this point. What made all the difference? I can't help think that I was more determined to succeed (4.0 GPA for a BSN that was completed in just over a year) because I paid for it. Happily the hospital has a tuition reimbursement program that did reimburse a portion of the cost (every little bit helps), but because failure meant I was throwing my money away, I studied and passed and graduated. My coworkers are not paying for their degrees -- they depend on a variety of programs that cover their costs. But eventually they will run out of benefactors and will take out loans. I've seen people choose expensive private schools over our local community college because they didn't want to sit on a waiting list; however, they failed each time and have to start all over again. Some have already had to take loans and they paid for what? Debt is piling up and they still have no degree.
It doesn't hurt to be a tortoise. College is a huge expense and a young person is expected to make major life decisions at a time when making decisions that will affect a person forever should not be made. I agree with your husband, dosey. There should be some skin in the game.
It sounds like your son knows what is required and he recognizes that this is an opportunity that cannot be squandered. Hmmm. Must have good parents...
There is a great technical college in town that has bridge programs to some large state universities. The tuition is so low that a person with decent high school grades could attend for free because of the SC life scholarship. However, suggest the bridge program to a teenager, and they will think you have cottage cheese for a brain. I do not understand this. I started going to school at a local junior college. Later, I transferred and did just fine.
Here's one for you to analyze, just bee. My husband's college education was paid for by his parents. When he graduated, his parents gave him a trip to Europe. I worked and paid for my education. When I graduated, my parents gave me nothing. Today, if we are able to pay for my kids' education, I will be thrilled. My husband wants them to pay for something. I know he is right (don't tell him), but I still want to do as much as I can for them. Are they spoiled? Am I overprotective? What?

Yes, ComPacters, temptation has been everywhere. All shopping networks have had beauty specials. I managed to find something "wrong" with all of them preventing a purchase. I did like the TF Bon Bon eyeshadow palette quite a bit but did not want to give up $49 for it.
I only have one empty to report - a tube of Korres body butter. I have several empties coming down the pike. It shouldn't be more than two weeks before they are history.
The UD Naked2 Basics eyeshadow palette has been put aside. This is what I am doing because I find it too hard to let it go since I've barely used it and it wasn't cheap. The colors do not look good on me. They look a little yellowy. I know I need to throw it away, and eventually, I will. A NYX eyeshadow palette might be next. I am playing with the colors, but they are either too dark, too light, or too shiny.
Last week, my son saw a couple walk by our house, point, and laugh. I told you our yard looked terrible. The grass is dead and crunchy. That was the push I needed. I changed into my yard clothes and started the makeover. The first thing I did was trim back the boxwoods. Then, I started digging. The roots were very hard to break through, but once I did, digging up the bush wasn't that hard. The root bulb is very shallow. It took three days, but now I am now finished. I wished I had a dog to help me. All I have is a cat. He watched me part of the time. I am sure he was wondering why I was ruining his hiding spot. He liked to sit behind the bushes and spy on the neighbors. Yesterday, I found him sitting in his usual spot but with no bushes to protect him. He looked at me, and I do believe he gave me the stink eye. That's okay. I'll be planting some new bushes, soon.

I don't know what your gun laws are but, in some states, if they were on your property, you could have shot them. If no one was watching, you could have shot them, then dragged their snarky bodies onto your property. I think it's best to give homeowners the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps someone has lost a job or is ill and just cannot get out there and address the yard. I had my taxes done today and my preparer told me she has two Joshua trees in her front yard. One was struck by lightning and the other, nearby, caught fire, too. Now they need to be removed because of an act of God. What I didn't know was that the city of Rio Rancho fines its residents if they have dead trees on their property. Wow. Didn't know that. I hope that law doesn't exist in Albuquerque! I see dead trees everywhere...
Speaking of cats, the landscapers found the burial ground in my rose garden. The neighbor's cat (I call her Felina) kills the birds I feed, then leaves their corpses under my shrubs. One day, Mr. Owl will carry her away...
Look sharp, Felina!

I am mocked at work but I don't care. Others are slowly becoming addicted so I will have the last laugh. BHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
