Wow, I was shocked to see that posts were removed from our friendly thread.  Well, I'll be sure to post only mundane beauty updates.  I didn't have a no-buy February.  I almost made it, just one more week...  I bought a Cover Girl Oh Sugar balm which is supposed to be a dupe for the Fresh Sugar balms.  It is very close but not as "melty", which in my opinion is a good thing.  All in all, I'm pleased with my purchase and it will be a one in one out situation as well.  I finished a Laura Mercier lipstick.  I'm glad I was able to replace it with a drugstore item.

Silly stuff.  But it looks like Community Spat -- er, Chat -- has been sanitized, too.

Okay, I thought about it and I’m back. My hissy fit is over—this time.  I’ve just been a grouchy old geezerette lately and I made the internet mistake of hitting “send” after writing out my first reactive impulses.  I never do well when I don’t stop to think things over before I act.  And I make mountains out of molehills.  So I’m not even going to go into it any further since that would give the incident more importance in my life than it deserves.

As for the eagle cams, they even mentioned one in a Washington D. C. park on the national news the other night.

Oh, as for the dog just bee, let's just say she's still a "challenge".  Now a 6-month-old 60 pound challenge.  But she is a love.

We have to remember the important things.  And generally the important things have four legs and a tail.  Some (tails) are just shorter than others.  Sounds like someone still has some growing to do.  The challenge will be to keep her intellectually stimulated.  That will be a full-time job!

And then some!  The kicker is that the biggest reason I got another dog is that I'm finding the rest of my life to be getting more confusing and frustrating so I wanted something that made sense to me to concentrate on.  But this dog is absolutely the most confusing and frustrating animal I've ever dealt with!

I think Someone has played a cosmic joke on me.

Puppies are the ultimate challenge.  But think: She won't be a puppy for long.  Soon you'll be finishing each other's sentences.  Well, you know what I mean.  When the world gets confusing and frustrating, it's good to discuss it with your dog.  A dog will listen intently and then refocus you on the important stuff.  Like, where is that new bone you bought yesterday?  Weren't you supposed to give that to me when you got home from the store?

No truer words!  I was looking at the topics and couldn't find anything interesting enough to respond to.

Do you like to eat food?

Do you think puppies are cute?

Do you think that groundhog was right?

Why does paint peel?

I suspect if this continues, people will log off and start speaking to one another again.

Sorry, geezerette, I know you have been having a tough time with this pup,  but this just made me giggle.  That pup is lucky to have you.  I am sure he is loveable in his own way. Smiley Happy

That's what I keep trying to tell her!!

Yes, she's adorable actually.  Very big, very clumsy, very destructive, and extraordinarily lovable.  Probably the sweetest dog we've ever had.  It's just that we've had little dogs for the last thirty years and it's been sixteen years since we've had a puppy of any kind.  It's not that I'd forgotten that puppies are a lot of work, it's that I'd forgotten what it is to actually do all that work.  And I have to admit that I've never had a dog that unlearns things that it already had down pat for months.  I've also never had a dog that can eat (and expel) every inanimate object she can get in her mouth.  Why am I spending so much money on top-of-the line dog food when she grazes like a goat?

I'm waiting for the stage when I can ask her why in the world can't you poop farther away from the house?  And what in heaven's name are you eating that makes you *pass wind* so much and so fragrantly?

(Have to keep this family friendly now I suppose.)

At least we're not the only subversives around here.

I had a really good retort to this but it involved mentioning a "makeup's" name, so I didn't dare try to sneak it through.

This is totally off topic but I wanted to share my story with you.

This morning I took out our Lotto ticket to check the numbers. We had 1, 2, 3, 4 numbers, then I started to breathe rapidly and started talking to myself to calm down! I checked them again, no, we only had four out of six. I thought that would be a least one or two thousand dollars, and we're both needing to replace our mattresses.

OK, 4 out of 6 numbers...was a prize of...$59Cat LOL

Well, at least we can play about 7 weeks on the winnings.

That does seem like very little.  I'll bet the amount is based on how many other people picked 4/6 numbers.  Congratulations!  A win is a win.

Dosey - I would have found your stories interesting. Glad you enjoyed the event!

Yes... clearly we're rebels.  Subversive types, discussing current events.  Not to worry -- I'm working on a code.  So, when we say "shoes" we mean "voters."  When we say "makeup" we mean "candidates."  When we say "facial cleanser" we mean "debates."
Dosey!  I hope you enjoyed the facial cleanser and were able to mix and mingle with the makeup... as a shoe.

I just browsed through the makeup.  I would have been too uncomfortable testing and playing with it.

Geezerette,  don't let them drive you away.  If you need to do it for personal reasons that is different but unfortunately it is a more policed state around here.  This forum went from one extreme to another.  I even miss being able to share coupon codes too.

Dosey, it is ashame they deleted the conversation.  It wasn't even political, it was just a description of the events.  I enjoyed reading about it.  There were a few other posts deleted too but I think those were by accident.

Findingmyjoy, yes, phew,  good thing for a little leeway in deciding and being able to press the cancel button.  Yesterday, I ordered a couple of combs and they warned that once you press submit, you can't cancel the order so I crossed my fingers and am hoping for the best.

I agree.  There was nothing overtly political and there was nothing derogatory.  The comment under the photo was not even an opinion -- it was pure fact.  I watched the moisturizer twice ("moisturizer" means "funeral mass") and was amazed by the shampoo ("shampoo" means "Paul S.").

Yes, the moisturizer was lovely.  I could not have done what the shampoo did.  I would have been a sudsy mess.

No kidding.  There was a whole discussion of using jojoba and castor oil as hair conditioner.  Where did that go?

Oops.  Did I say castor?

Mmmm, giiirrrrrll!  You are going to get banned.
