The man who gave me the senior discount was older than me. So today I went to pick out new eyeglasses. One pair is more versatile but matches the salt and pepper hair. The other pair is a very distinctive color that may be hard to coordinate with but makes me look more my age. Decisions. PS the boyfriend was thrilled to save $3 with the discount.
Okay. Let's give the guy a pass since he is older than you. Clearly, his vision has changed as it does as we age. To me, that has been the worst thing about aging. I have readers everywhere!

It's the LAST day of July!!! wow this month has flew by! Here were my goals for this month = No buying any new body lotions, shower gels, or any other body potion. I have enough to last for months if not years. No new skincare purchases this month! I will shop my stash this month.........drumroll please............I did it!!! There were a bunch of temptation this month including fabulous deals on some of my favorite body products - but I didn't buy any! I also made no skincare purchases!!! Here is proof of my fewer purchases this month = I looked at my checking account today and there is more money in it??!!! One thing that majorly helped was budgeting my "fun" money for my upcoming Chicago trip. I think having a goal or something big to apply my money to was a good tool for compacting! Overall, was a great month for very little coming in at all plus I used up a few items. I think I need to start tracking my empty bottles again for more motivation again. How did you all do this month?
I did not do as well as you did. Some things left my home, but some things came in. Let me think about my purchases and get back to you. I need to go, now.

Just Bee - I'll relocate to try out the Southwest!! Can I borrow a couple million dollars please? OR, better plan - maybe all of us compactors can pool the money we save on not buying stuff to buy a house? LOL
Wouldn't that be funny? "Instead of cosmetics, I bought a house!"

I did well for July too. A few temptations and I almost caved but talked myself down. Very minimal products coming in and I am shooting for the same thing in August - a low buy.
I am close to finishing a few things and I am thrilled.
I threw out a pair of white jeans. Somehow a frozen cherry must of dropped in the pocket (a head scratcher as to how it got in there) and I didnt think to use bleach so I tossed it. I also threw out some kitchen utensils. They just dont make things like they use to and I dont buy the cheapest stuff either. So, I am going to decide if I want to replace it. Unfortunately, it is something I use often but I will see if I have other things that will do.
I do need to start going through some containers again but cant get myself to get started.

This is the first month in a long time that more came in than went out. I bought a Mally set because both my mascara and foundation are running out. I love her mascara and like her other items that I have used. So I decided to take a chance on the foundation. So the other items in the set were "free." I also bought the Nick Chavez hair flocker and hair spray set. I have run out of hair spray and always wanted to try the flocker. The great news is that the flocker works on my hair. I should not need anything next month except maybe body lotion.

Yes, I can give you my thoughts on IT's CC Cream. Let me start by telling you that I have pretty good skin. There are no age spots. What I have is a slightly uneven skintone. It is pink in places. I like to even it out by applying a bit of foundation/tinted moisturizer/BB cream/etc. I have fine lines under my eyes and am beginning to get two lines on my forehead. There are a few visible pores on my nose. Regarding my coloring, I used to be very fair. As I have aged (esp. the past few years), my skin has yellowed. Now, I am a light-medium.
I went to Ulta wearing no foundation but did have on my usual skin care products, including a liquid mineral sunscreen. Because there was not a brush available and I prefer to apply foundation myself to see how it feels, I used my fingers to apply a small amount (less than pea size) of the CC Cream in medium on the left side of my face. I had to work fast because it started to dry quickly. It felt a bit tacky as I worked with it. Then, I took a disposable sponge and ran it over the CC cream. After drying, it felt like my skin. It did even out my skin, but it did not cover the two pink spots left by recent blemishes. Dabbing a bit of the CC cream on the spots did not cover them, either. I did not need a finishing powder because the finish was matte but not a super dry matte. It is supposed to be buildable, but I did not apply a second layer. I prefer only one layer of foundation.
On the right side of my face, I applied the Celebration Foundation in medium with a sponge. This powder is truly creamy. I also have Smashbox Halo and can no longer use this because it looks just like a powder on my face with little coverage. The CF went on easily and evened my coloring. My skin felt so soft. Two employees (a male and female) were near me so I asked told me what I did and which side did they prefer. Both like the Celebration Foundation side better than the CC Cream side. Although I do not think the CC Cream side looked bad, I do think the CF looked better. Very smooth. I also think that both the CC Cream and the CF would be easier to apply and look better if applied with a brush. I always use a dense, flathead brush (looks little bit like a lampshade) to apply foundation, CC cream, etc. because it leaves such a nice finish.
I did try Tarte's BB Cream, too. Just a little on my jawline. It is thinner than IT's CC Cream and has a light coverage, but I liked how it felt. It comes in a lot of shades. I wore the light medium.
I hope this helps and isn't confusing.
Thanks, Dosey! I ended up getting the CC cream in medium. It just arrived and so far I'm liking it. I have similar skin issues as you. I'm trying to not be so dependent on covering up my flaws. So this CC cream is a nice step in that direction, high spf with some coverage that can be built up. I still have to set it with a powder because I get oily throughout the day. But I do have dry patches on my chin that I didn't have before (getting older) so the CC cream provides a little hydration that my oil free foundation didn't have. How frustrating, oily yet dry skin. What?! I do like the pump tube, very hygenic and airtight.
It was quite satisfying to finish a foundation and purchase a new one. I have pan showing on a bronzer and a powder, just a nub left of a lipstick and a quarter of the tube of concealer and eye primer. I already have replacements for these products in my stash, but after that I'm out and will have to purchase new things. Slowly but surely!

Congratulations on making mindful purchases!! I'm glad you are enjoying your new foundation. It is so hard to recommend a foundation because what feels tacky on one person's skin feels silky on another's
