What lovely pictures! Thanks for posting them, just bee.

My youngest is not feeling well. It appears that he got into some trouble and has an injury on the back of the right side of his jaw, and fur is missing. The area is also swollen. I tried to examine it, but he turned away every time I came close to the wound. When the weather is warm, he stays outside at night. Last night, he was waiting by the door by 8 pm and stayed inside all night. This morning, he was sitting at the top of the stairs in a sluggish mood with no desire to go outside. I saw that his food had not been touched. Normally, when he stays in for the night, he will have a midnight snack.

He ate a bit around 10 am and then wanted out. A few minutes later, he wanted back inside. The swelling is not as bad today, and I am glad he has eaten something. I can tell he doesn't feel well. He has not slept since returning inside and has stayed by my side. If he would fall asleep, I could apply Polysporin to his boo boo. (I used to go to church with a vet pharma rep, and he said people antibiotic ointments are fine for animals.)

I have to take DD to the mall to find a swimsuit because she is going to a pool party on Saturday. DS will be here to look after our cat.

Sorry to hear junior is ailing. Was there a fight? Seems like cats are so susceptible to infection. When Better-half was pureeing boiling hot split pea soup in the blender and the blender jar slipped and splashed boiling hot split pea soup all over his face and chest, the ER gave him a tube of Bacitracin. That stuff works miracles.

I used to use Neosporin on the pets with the vet's blessings. But I think Polysporin's a good choice because it contains bacitracin.

My derm's wound care instructions has in bold print not to use Neosporin. I asked her why, and she said that it contains an ingredient that some people are allergic to. She also said that people who have no problems with this ingredient sometimes develop an allergy to it. She recommends Polysporin, so that is what I buy. I wish it came in a cream form instead of an ointment. Ointments leave behind a coating.

One word: Shame.

I have several pairs of old eyeglasses that I still haven't donated to the Lions Club.

I'm just going to have to get them together and put them in a conspicuous spot, so that when I leave the house there's a better chance that I'll leave with the glasses.

If they're not out of the house this month I'll have to declare myself a loser.

What issue will make you a loser if it isn't addressed soon?

The box of my mother's belongings that I brought home from her funeral. It has been sitting on my bedroom floor for nearly six years.

ACK! Where the last few weeks go?!

April started off well, I finished a few items that were larger travel sized and my husband finished a body wash. The end of April wasn't to great since I cancelled my BB TSV, reinstated it, go the next shipment, but then I returned it. Should have just kept it cancelled! I did cancel it again, though.

I didn't get a complete room done, but we did buy a few bookshelves, which we desperately needed. Those got stained and just got moved to the bedroom. We also got the back porch cleaned and ready to use now that the weather is nicer. I also bought some hangers on sale for the children's closets. They are the thin, velvet type ones. My daughter needs bigger hangers now that she's getting older. I organized my jewelry box too. I didn't realize how many necklaces I had bought recently.

May is busy, so I'm not sure how much we'll get done, but with the in-laws visiting the next two weekends, we will need to get some cleaning done! Smiley Happy

Now to read all of the posts from the past two weeks. Keep up the good work!!

DD needs some bookshelves. Right now, she has converted surface space in her room into bookshelves. DD and other kids who love to read post "shelfies" online to show each other how many books they own. I love that DD is a reader. She always has to have a book to read. She can read a book in two hours. I take her to the library, and she checks out a pile of books. DD also borrows books from her friends. She will reread books that she really enjoys.

Here's the problem. DD wants to own every book that she has read. She wants to collect them. I shouldn't be upset, but I am because books are not cheap. We have a few used bookstores, but they are hit or miss. Some of the shelfies DD has shown me are incredible. Hundreds of books. Walls of books. How do the kids get all of these books? I cannot buy DD every book she wants. That would be very expensive. And there are only so many gift-giving occasions when people can give her books.

I shouldn't complain. There are so many worse problems.

Our cat is feeling better. On Sunday, he spent the night inside, again, and slept behind the sofa all night. In the morning, he emerged long enough for me to see that the swelling was going away. Then, he curled up in a little ball and went back to sleep. This was not normal. Usually, he insists that I pet him for a few minutes before he has his breakfast.

At noon, he finally ate something and went outside briefly. Later in the day, I heard a meow at the front door. It was our cat's friend from down the street. This got our cat going, sort of. He went outside, and he and his friend sat on the porch together ignoring each other. That is their relationship. Ignoring each other with an occasional nose-to-nose contact.

Last night, our cat stayed out all night. When I saw him this morning, the swelling was completely gone. The lack of swelling allowed me to see that he had quite the gash on his face. Fortunately, it is healing. Now, he is asleep on the deck enjoying the sunshine.

I am wondering what happened. Earlier today, I spoke with my neighbor. One of his cats is missing. They haven't seen him since Saturday. The kids and I will look for him this evening. Do you think whatever hurt my cat could be the reason why my neighbor's cat is missing?

You've mentioned wild animal sightings in your area. Glad kitty is feeling better, but I would still ground that cat. Too many loose critters in your neighborhood. Pets in these parts are fodder for coyotes, birds of prey, and psychopaths.

When I relocated to ABQ it was a good thing the company I worked for paid for the move. Decide now that you will stay in your current house forever because you will never want to move all that weight. I left behind countless books with my mother and sister when I moved here and I still have boxes of books that I haven't unpacked after almost 20 years. I have bookshelves in almost every room. I have no idea what happened to all the books my mother, sister, and I had collected -- chances are they went into the storage units that my other sister has been paying for these last ten years.

At some point I'm going to have to prune my library because no one else is going to want to deal with my books when I'm gone.

Doses, that doesn't make you a loser! I think that is very touching and have seen my family members take all of my grandmother's belongings just to sell them on eBay. All I asked for was the pictures, which they didn't want since there was no value to them.

I am a loser for not unpacking all of our boxes when we moved in five years ago and for keeping a pile of my husband's items by the bedroom door that I told him to go through in January or they were going to the dump since he obviously doesn't need them.

Well, then I'm an even bigger loser because I have unpacked boxes from 1995. So there. Better-half says it's proof that whatever is inside the boxes is unnecessary and should be discarded.

And I say, "Eh, shuddup you face."
