I'll drop it off at the donation box tomorrow morning. I counted my flip flops, just bee. 22. Three pairs are strictly beach/pool shoes. Two pairs have not been worn in more than a year. I really do not like them, so I tossed them. They could not be donated because the footbed is too worn. I have a new no buy - flip flops.
Flip flops! I can honestly say that this is one item I do not collect! (Can't tolerate anything between my toes. None of that "thong" business for me.)
I do admit I still have a very old pair of Asian bamboo and velveteen from the 70s. Kinda like this without the "arty" part:

I should! We have films in the collection that I will never watch.
I used to lend my movies and never get them back. Now it doesn't bother me because so many were VHS. I do miss my Godfather DVD series, though...
Why don't people return things?
Neither a borrower nor a lender be,
For loan oft loses both itself and friend,
And borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry...

On 6/5/2014 FUTURE said: I did my 15 minutes today. Probably closer to 30.My cleaning lady came, so I had to "pre-clean" lol. I also worked in our home office this morning, and filed a bunch of stuff, as well as got a lot of papers out to take to shred. I also cleaned up and got rid of a few things in our storage room a/k/a walk-in attic a/k/a spare bedroom that's empty but full of stuff. I am just going to have to buckle down and really get after that room. It's driving me insane. There's a lot of stuff in there to donate -- it's just getting to it! I might just do one or two boxes a day. I also need to go through a few things in the kitchen -- Tupperware (with no lids, OBVS), for one. Then the closet, which I usually do twice a year, but it's getting disorganized again. That'll only take me an hour or two. Other than that, I'm pretty good around here. It's just not ADDING to it. Oh! And I think I'm going to throw out 90% of my nail polish. I just don't need it, and many are old. But that's in the storage room, so I'll include it in that. I discovered today that I have about 30 candles. Omg, what am I going to do with all of them?!?! Burn 'em, I guess!! I'll be done by 2040 or so........ Oh, I was good this week beauty-wise, but did pick up a new polish (I think I'm just going to use one "system" from now on, and have 4-5 colors that are classic me, that I KNOW I'll wear). Also, a dupe for my BB powder I love. I actually think I'm going to love it for summer, because it absorbs a little better, then save the BB for winter. And one lip gloss. I know, I know. One per week is good for me!! Sad, I know. I had a friend ask me the other day what kind of lipstick I wear. My answer? Um, Every. Single. Kind. Ever. Made. And ten of each of them. It's insanity......night, girls!!
I always thought I could re-purpose nail polish. I discovered I collected that, too, yet I never polish my nails. Could I paint rocks? Decorate clay pots?
I made up a whole list of things to do with old polish and then I tossed it all!
I stopped buying candles several years ago because I rarely burn them. Still have more than I need, but once they're gone, they're gone.

Ok, I'll play. I spent more like a half hour sorting out and rearranging the two cupboards in which I keep dishes and glassware. Ended up with a more convenient arrangement, and a whole load of surplus glasses and mugs, and a few other miscellaneous things. I'm keeping the set of 6 Italian dinner plates that my mother gave me 20 years ago. I don't need them and seldom use them, but there they are; they were a big (nice) surprise because she didn't often give me gifts.
I also keep going through my bath and beauty products and tossing one or two a week. You know the drill: toss it, feel guilty it's wasted, feel relieved it's gone, forget it ever existed. I've got the whole cycle down to about 45 seconds!
Last week, I went through the things I wear to sleep in (it would be dignifying them to call them pajamas) and got rid of the rattiest of them. I am recycling my oldest tee shirts to sleep in, supplemented by some great woven cotton sleep pants from Target, $12 each and nice colors. I love pajamas, and now I have a whole "new" batch.
Although I didn't have any to toss, it felt good to go through all the t-shirts, sort and re-fold them, and store them on trays on my closet shelves. I got wire mesh desk trays at Target--the kind that are open on one of the long sides, so about 12" wide, and about 10" wide. Turns out they are a great size for folded knit shirts. Now I can store them on a higher shelf; I just take down the wire tray, lift out the one I want, and pop the stack, still neat, back on the shelf. I'm very pleased with this method. I use those rattan baskets lined with cotton for sweaters, but the wire in-baskets make it easier to see everything.
How come I still have so many shirts, though? Long sleeve, short sleeve, elbow sleeve, sleeveless, and camis; thicker and lighter weight fabrics and textures; turtlenecks, v-necks, round necks; blacks, whites and various colors--they really add up. Well, there are at least two seasons, and I wear one most days. Still, I bet I have five or six dozen. How about you? How many is enough? Too much? Just right?

Getting ready to start de-cluttering again today but more importantly, I am NOT buying the Fresh Cream Philosophy TSV. I love the fresh cream but I don't NEED it. I vow to use up what I have. I have finally come to the realization that there will always be a TSV from Philosophy just around the corner whenever I truly NEED something.
It is unbelievable the number of fragrance sprays, shower gels and lotions I have purchased over the years. Some of the lotions turned which I don't understand. I can buy a bottle of Jergens and it never turns rancid like the Philosophy products do. Oh, well, lessons learned. Years ago, prior to QVC and HSN, I would buy one bottle of shampoo or lotion or shower gel. I would use it until it was gone and then I'd buy another one. Then for some reason I started "collecting" these items and have multiples of each product. NO MORE MULTIPLES !!! Not only do they sometimes spoil, I have to store all of them. Now, I'm off to de-clutter.

I will be happy to have them and I have 2 extra bedrooms but the closets are filled with my QVC clothes. All of a sudden I am faced with a major overhaul of my clothes collection. I'll be lucky if I can give each of them half a closet. Wish me luck.
Well over the last 2days I have gathered 2 large garbage bags full of clothes to get rid of. .Still didn't clear much room in the closets. Amazing how squeezed in they were.
