Hi Ladies! I am happy to join you! Aprilskies, I can so relate to " the noise that needs quieted." Because of you Ladies, I have been working on my stash. It was sooooo frustrating to throw out many, many vitamins that had expired. It was equally maddening to toss many, many creams that had separated. Why do we do this? But, this is the time to move forward. I am getting my stash organized ,so I now know what I have & when it will expire. Thanks for the motivation. The Bob Newhart video spoke to me. He was saying, " Stop procrastinating & get that stash organized!!!" I know some of you can relate. I am glad Just Bee started this thread.

This month I started a spreadsheet to keep track of beauty and home fragrance purchases I haven't made. These are items that I'm sure I would have bought if I wasn't on a no-buy. So far there's only two, and they total $75.96!

Goodness! That would cover my electric bill. What could you put that $75.96 towards?

Welcome Kittykatmom2!

Funny you should mention creams that have separated. I've been trying to use a jar of cream from April 1, 2008 that has separated, and I decided today to toss it. I went to the next day cream on my spreadsheet, and it's from 4/28/08. This cream expired in Dec. of 2010. It's in a pump container, so maybe this one held up better.{#emotions_dlg.scared}

Came back to add some things. I just threw away a candle and went to my linen closet to get another one. Candles are a problem for me also. I usually purchase them from BBW and since their semi-annual sale is going, I am feeling the pressure. I don't burn candles; I use a candle-warmer so there is a candle on the warmer at least 15 hours each day. I alternate about four different scents at a time. When a candle is no longer giving off scent, it is trashed. The good news is that my one shelf that is used for candles is almost full and I refuse to find another storage place. I think I will add a Candle Inventory to my spreadsheet so I will know what scents I have and can watch the number decrease.

the power of the no buy & group support is amazing. at work this morning & I'm bored. I recently recieved some samples of products that make my skin look really good. Since I'm bored I go onto the Ultas website & put the full sized products in my cart. & it gives me 4 gifts with purchases. How could I not buy this??? Then I remember the no buy & ask myself if I want to disappoint myself. I dont. I cancelled the transaction and bought nothing. Compactors - you saved me $138 that I didnt need to spend. Thank you!

What a great idea! I'm joining the compact 2014 full force! I did buy a fitbit zip to help me work out. Makeup is my weakness. I knew it was bad, when I get an email from Sephora saying I was less than 200.00 from .rouge status. Yikes! You have to spend 1,000.00 to hit that limit. Alb getting back on track with my eating habits. End of year is always insane at my job. This year was worse than others, but I didn't go too off track. Trying to stay warm!

And I'll be delighted to accept that amount, on behalf of the ComPact, by personal check made out to J-U-S-T-B...
