Re: ComPact 2014 – February

luvstoshop, would you have bought the No No if it were not a special today? Have you been able to do without it in the past? Is it a real need? Can you postpone the purchase? Is it available at Amazon at a similar price to help you avoid the purchase? Think "No No" on the purchase. Enjoy the lunch; time can be your friend!

I have done so well until Today! I am very tempted by the NO NO on HSN... I haven't purchased yet....{#emotions_dlg.crying}{#emotions_dlg.w00t}

OMW to have lunch with hubbie and child. Will decide later on what to do..

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

P.s I have started on my ORC yet... Mine is the kitchen.. will get it done before the end of the month for sure!

Let me help you... lol

Read the reviews. They are almost all horrible.

I purchased the No!No! a few years ago & used it at least twice per day (they said more often = faster results) for 3 months. It did not slow down hair regrowth at all for me. Luckily, I planned ahead & purchased it when I could take advantage of the extended holiday return policy.

Most of the people who say they like it are still using it a year later! Doh! If you are still using it after all that time it did not work as they promise. The marketing is that you will have no more hair after several months so you won't need to use it at all. You can give it away! The high price is because it is supposed to eliminate the need to remove the hair at all because it will be gone for good. It simply does not work for most people.

There are better hair removers for much less. Try an epilator like the Emjoi eRase. They are not permanent but they do more, better than No!No!

Re: ComPact 2014 – February

Well, I got my office/beauty supply store room in order yesterday. I still need to purge some items but at least it is in order where I can find things. I have a spare room where I have been dumping things from other rooms. That room is next on my ORC. I need to have a yard sale but it's a rural area and I don't think many would come to my sale. I just keep going to the office and admiring it !! It feels so good to have it organized. The only thing I have purchased lately is the body wash I found that has really helped with the tiny bumps on my arms.

Dosey--When in a store, it pays to have blinders...or pretend to have them as you did! Good job! I try to stay out of department stores right now. I go to the mall to have my nails done once a month and just glance at the windows on the way to and from the nail place.

I did watch the Susan Graver show and saw a gorgeous top that called out to me. Add to that she added the magic words I was thinking, "Put a little Spring in your life." After doing a mental calculation, I decided that the ending price of $50 was more than I was willing to pay at this time for a "little Spring." Would I pay that much in a store? Highly unlikely unless it was a real winner.

I know that eventually I will be buying something, but right now the shopping gene has been deactivated. I set out with a goal of just January being a month of buying only essentials. That went so well that I decided to try February and now have gone six weeks with buying only essentials. It helps that I'm losing work days and pay because of the snow. Loss of income is a great motivator.

Each of us has our own struggles to face. Set goals to overcome them in the manner best suited for you. Have a great day.

Isn't it funny how a shopping channel can convince us to pay $50 for a top? Yet when I am in a store, I can calculate in about five seconds how much a top will cost after the sale percentage and bonus coupon is taken off. If it is not low enough, I'll put it back and stalk it until the price drops! {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

I will have to look at Target for those! Storing the BE jars is a bit of a challenge. I got several little glasses @ Target at Christmas time to use for lipsticks, glosses, etc. I really like them.

I do like the mesh holder but I think I'd like it more for in the bathroom than the vanity area I am going to set up. I've got no counter space in the bathroom so I rely on the top of a small 3 drawer organizer on wheels. I apply blush, bronzer, and finishing powder in the bathroom (other makeup & skincare in the other room with a close-up mirror to see details better) and this would be good for those brushes & other things I keep there.

You are right. The mesh holder would be too bulky on a vanity. Isn't it funny how the cutest makeup organizer are things that have been repurposed? Spice racks, glasses, vases, ...

Don't buy it!!! I was watching HSN the other day. The Amika flat iron and hair spray were being presented. Martino made it look so easy! Special pricing, free shipping, flex pay. I was almost ready to pick up the phone. Then, I made myself put it on my mental wish list. There will be other specials. HSN has them frequently. Guess what? The need for the flat iron has passed.

Re: ComPact 2014 – February

I threw out a foundation, eyeshadow trio, and a blush. Since I have been using different makeup each day, I've discovered what works for me and what doesn't. I still have more makeup to use, but this is a good start. A little at a time.

Re: ComPact 2014 – February

Hello! In January my only purchase was a makeup palette that I used a rewards certificate on. I was on vacation for a week and have been working through my travel sized toiletries. This past week my husband finally finished unpacking boxes in our closet. We moved in four years ago! We also purchased furniture for a room that had none, but at least the kids have a place for their toys and we can sit and watch them since they are young. We will be getting that room more organized and then working on the baby's room. It's time for him to move out of our bedroom! Looks like there are a ton of posts to read through this month. OMGosh! Who knew I could do so much??? {#emotions_dlg.w00t}

I'm making great progress with my living room ORC! I found a good way to work & play. It may seem silly but it is working for me.

I have a few reminders in my phone to do this or that & when they go off I get up. When I get up I have to do some work on the room. I also take something out to the trash or recycle bin each time. Once I start working I tend to keep going for a while. So, I am up & down a bit & have a bit of play time on my netbook.
