On 2/1/2014 just bee said:
It has begun.
Indeed!
And I am under strict orders to get a load of too-big winter clothes ready for consignment before I start on my room so I had better get busy!

I needed to go to Aldi's today and it is very close to B&BW and BB&B. I stood strong and only went to Aldi's. Just a baby step but at least I didn't buy anything other than food. I have purchased some of the SKINN products lately and they are really agreeing with my skin. I have way to many collections in my house so I am always attempting to reduce the stash. When I got home from the grocery, I made myself a teapot of Irish Breakfast tea and relaxed. It was delicious !!!! Now I need to do some cooking.

January was my first compact month. I am compacting on beauty stuff.
I purchased 3 items for myself.
- I took my last O'Keefe's Working Hands out of my stash and bought 2 more (they are hard to find in my area).
- I purchased 1 Hair Mask. I really did not need the Hair Mask but a friend got it for my at her company store. If I do not use it I will send it to Utah.
- I did not order ANY TSVs from any channel althought I was tempted.
- I delayed or cancelled all my existing TSVs.
I tossed 1 item, a hair spray in a previous TSV and used up 4 full size items and 1 sample, all of which were opened in 2013.
Now about Utah ... I buy holiday gifts for teens with no parents at a therapeutic boarding school. Just the basics shampoo, deodorant, body lotion, toothpaste, etc. In order to afford this I look for great sales all year long and use my coupons. I usually ship between 250-500 items in December. Since January has such great sales I did buy a lot of stuff for this endeavor.

Happy February!
Didn't buy any clothes, lotions, creams or shower gels in January which I'm very proud of. But did buy some makeup from Elf.
For February, I am due to get my planned purchase Mally TSV palette. If I don't like it I will send it back, and get either Lorac's Pro Palette or Tarte's Matteficent Palette. But will continue to work on my stash of shower gels, lotions, creams, scrubs and hand soaps, and hope to not add anything to the stash in those areas.
For my ORC I will be choosing my Bathroom and Hall Linen Closet. Since my stash has been decreasing, maybe I can fit more Linen in it!!
Good Luck to all!

Made is through another month of home fragrance/bath & body no buy. I'll be sitting out the ORC. Just getting out what I can from all over the house for now.

No fashion or beauty product purchases in Jan. and plan on the same for Feb. It isn't always easy but I felt so good at the end of the month. The support of others is so helpful, at least for me.

I am hunting for more ways to organize my makeup & skincare. I already have several thick glass jelly jar-type glasses for lipsticks, glosses, single end brushes, etc. What do you think of these ideas? I'm going to set up a makeup at one end of a table (computer set up on other end) for now, then move to a vanity or small desk when I find one.
QVC - K39783 -Genius Spice-It-Up Set of 2 Swiveling Spice Racks
These would be for small items like nail polish & some lotions. I'd like some for spices, too! $24.98 for two & they even have green & purple - my favorite colors! Have not checked enough to know if they can be found elsewhere yet.
BB&B - Copco Non-Skid 15-Inch Cabinet Organizer
I like this idea for things a bit larger. Having little shelves would make t easier to locate things. Not sure if this would work for my little BE jars, but it probably would.
Each shelf measures approximately 15" W x 3" D & costs $7.99. I could purchase w/25% off coupon.

My paper decluttering didn't go so well today and I can't even blame it on the wine. Darn it.

I like the idea of a one room challenge, but having moved into a house that's fifty years old and whose previous owners did little to update or maintain it, I find myself bouncing from room to room doing "mini" jobs and repairs. In January, I painted the kitchen and the family room. In February, I'm going to paint the moulding in those two rooms, plus the hallway and guest bathroom. While I'm at it, I will continue to de-clutter (especially paper -
shudder!). I am trying to take one carload a week or every other week of miscellaneous items to Goodwill.
I stopped carrying a regular-sized pocketbook. I now carry a very tiny bag with the essentials, and I clip my keys to the outside of it. Boy, has that simplified my life! No more rummaging and dumping out my bag at every twist and turn! As much as I like the look of bigger bags, I am enjoying the freedom (and light weight) of a little purse, and as for makeup, I really never touch up more than powder and gloss, so there's no need to carry the array I used to. Funny how a little change can make a big difference.

I hit pan on a blush! *doing happy dance* Should finish this year, LOL!
Didn't get so far with the room this weekend--was going to start but it became cold and grey and made DH and I lazy! Will work a bit tomorrow on the dresser.
