I got my Hit List together for February. It includes:
Vanilla Bean Noel Lotion 8oz
Udder Balm 2oz
Josie Maran SPF Moisturizer 0.5oz
Cool Citrus Basil Body spray
e.l.f. eyeshadow quad and lipgloss
I just tossed a Covergirl Mascara yesterday that I could barely scrape anything more out of, so that's gone too.
I'm still on the hunt for a good cleanser/makeup remover. I bought some Patricia Wexler to try because I had BBW gift cards, but I've only used it twice and the last time I used it, it seemed to irritate my skin. I don't know if it's just the time of year, with all the dry air, because I don't usually have sensitive skin. I tossed the receipt so I can't return it, so I'll try it again and see if I can make it work. If not, it might end up being a very expensive body wash. Maybe I'll just stick with my Albolene, I'm getting sick of even looking around online. If Paula's Choice offered free shipping, I'd try hers, but I don't want to spend $50 right now just to try a cleanser and I don't want to pay for shipping. So I'll play that by ear I guess. I also can't find a nighttime moisturizer that I like, so I'm totally frustrated with my skin care right now. I'm using what I have, but I don't like any of it. Sigh.

Ugh. Slow going this past weekend with the one-room project. I selected the room with the boxes of papers, and only managed to get through three of them. I have to stop and look at everything, figure out whether to keep it or not, crawl around on the floor and put it on the correct pile if keeping it. If not keeping it, then I have to examine it and remove all personally identifiable information - those darned bar codes at the bottom of the credit card offers, name and address, etc. On the bright side, though, I am not accumulating those items anymore. I put all the mail in a basket and deal with it weekly, got onto the direct marketing preferences website and stopped all solicitations (I hope), and turned off paper statements for everything else.

January was a great month. I made no non-essential purchases, and I made great headway on the kitchen. We have been hit with another snow storm and it is bad when malls close because of the danger involved in travel. I've had one sunny day and one in which I could get out and enjoy. This is the worst winter we have had since 1978 in terms of frequency of storms and number of days school has been closed and we don't close unless the roads are a threat, especially the side roads. We have to have a certain percentage of students present before it can be counted as an instructional day. I have dealt with this better than expected as I'm not a Winter person but this week, I am worn down and have zero motivation to do anything around the house. I'm at the limit of things I can put out for Waste Management if they are able to pick up this week.
I've lost so far around $1300 in income compared to prior January's. No work, no pay! I am not a happy camper, especially since I'm flying solo and am a one-income family. I'm heading for the Kindle; perhaps, I'll be more in the mood to tackle a room later today. Controlling the spending has become easier; I'm watching Perlier and am not the least tempted.

Don't beat yourself up, you're doing great. I've only managed to clear one box so far. I'm dedicating the whole month to decluttering the papers in this room. It does take long to search through every item!
I've never thought about the bar codes. Do you know what information they show?

I just finished a 7 oz tube of SSC Gleame Body Cleanser. I'm not sure how old this was, but I know I purchased it before moving in July 2006!
I have one small tube of Prai shower gel to use, then I'll be done with all my pre-move shower gels.

I have some serious drama going on in my life right now so I'm making February another no-buy month. I'm thinking about a room-to-room pruning -- nothing too intense, just a superficial removal of the most glaring "unnecessities" -- before I commit to a room per month.
Just need to see how this current drama is going to work itself out before I put my energy into a new project.
