I was feeling overwhelmed with everything that needs cleaned, so I start a list per room so I could see my progress as I worked on items. I also have a very large pile ready for my church's yard sale in June. I am hoping to add more to that soon. Finishing a room does feel so good, so I am trying to remember that feeling. I also canceled my last auto delivery before the next shipment was sent. It was hard to do, but I know it needed to be done.
Smart!

Yesterday, I finally setup the spreadsheet so now its a matter of sitting down and entering the receipts. I know I probably wont capture everything since I am not sure I kept receipts or wrote things down but its a start. I do wish I kept records of other years just to see the diff from year to year. Oh well, not that important to me, just curious since I have really cut back in a lot of areas and it would of been interesting to see the result.I have been doing some organizing and decluttering lately but nothing of note but I have a little box ready to go.
I am going to take a trip today to Sephora and pick up a couple of things during their sale and that I can use and need but then I am recommitting to the Compact for beauty items. I can tell I am losing a little grip and dont want to go down that path again of collecting again.
I am wondering if Spring will ever get here.
I never thought I spent much on toiletries (even though I have a linen closet filled with shower gels). Do I shop at Sephora? I walked into the place once, sniffed a fragrance, then walked out. I'm a low maintenance girl -- how could I be spending too much on lotions and potions? I buy sale items, close-outs, get free shipping.
I sat down one day a few years ago and added it all up. I started with my online receipts. Then I looked at my checkbook register. I had a small seizure.

I let my cleaning lady go through them (she found some things -- yay!!), and the rest is going to consignment. Also went through our storage stuff and got rid of several items. I'm just over all the junk. I need to go through kitchen cabinets, but we really don't have a ton of stuff there. Did the garage, too. Not much there, but cleaned and spruced up, so it feels better. My biggest thing, as always, is beauty purchases. And clothes. But mainly beauty. I am going to get the Pantone lipstick this wknd at Sephora, and then I'm done. Seriously. I'm also going to list several new items on ebay. Why not? Anyway, I'm here and I'm checking in. I literally gave more stuff than I could ever use, and it's pretty disgusting when you think of all the money spent. No more sneaking items in the bag. No more sales. No more buying stupid stuff.
May your new life begin!

Hello Everyone,
I'm recomitting too. March started out ok with a few planned purchases then spiraled out of control. Hate when I do that. Added to the shower gel stash which has been steadly decreasing. I bought the 2 new 32 oz. Philosophy 3 n 1's from Ulta. And yes they smell great but I didnt need them.
And I have stalled on the ORC I had been tackling little spots here and there but need too get back on the bandwagon. I'm opening my windows today putting on some good tunes and going to town!!
Some good news though, I was able to resit a Philosophy Strawberry Italian Soda 3 n 1. Found it in Marshalls and carried it around and thought about the 2 new 32 ozs and all the rest of the stash and left that baby there. I did treat myself to a lovely candle on the same shopping trip, reminds me of my Gramps, its called Warm Tobacco Pipe. Its wonderful, makes me smile with memories. I also have opened my LAST BBW handsoap!! Yay me!! There are no more BBW ones in the stash!! I have a couple more different brands but my goal of no handsoap stash is in sight! WOO HOO!
Happy Spring Everyone!

Happy Saturday, ComPactors!
Kns110, happy belated birthday!
Thinking of everything that needs to be done overwhelms me, too. It helps me a lot to focus on just one thing.
WTG Kathie! Seeing the light at the end of the tunnel is so nice!
My April Plans...
Beauty/Skincare: After using up & tossing so many products every month last year it is kind of hard to see fewer things going out. This year I am working on moving my focus to simply USING the products I have & realizing they will be gone when they are gone.
I might run out of conditioner for my hair this month, possibly shampoo. Those are things I would need to buy more of but I think I am fine for other things. I think I am fine with the skincare products I have. Unless I cave & watch too many tempting presentations I do not expect to buy anything. There are some products I'd like that I do not have anything similar to but I think I can live w/o them for now. Oh! Almost forgot - I need to get a new sponge for my Neutrogena Derma whatever it is called tool. The sponge came off the place attachment so it is unusable.
It amazes me how few beauty things I buy these days. I am doing well at using what I have and enjoying it. I know watching presentations and wandering through beauty departments can tempt me so I am not doing that much. When I start to feel tempted I close the browser tab or walk away at the store.
I am increasingly unhappy with what is left of my lipsticks/glosses. I'm going to sit down & go through them again to see if I can make do but I may end up getting one or two for every day use. Most of what I have are almost colorless/colorless glosses/balms that came in kits. I like them but I need color on my lips. I use up my neutral shades pretty quickly & the deeper/brighter shades are rarely used. I'm going to toss any that are so dark or not good shades for me. I did most of this a year ago but I kept a few that should have been tossed because I hate to waste things. Irrational thinking! lol...
One thing I want to work on this month is my hand creams. I use them every day but I have so many of them sitting around that I don't quite finish any. I am going to find a container to keep them in - like a bowl - so I can reach in & use up the almost empty ones first. they need to be visible & easily accessable. I just had a thought - I have a wooden bowl, previously used for nuts in the shell, that might work.
After holding my hands out for my hand gel a few times I have gotten in the habit of washing my hands with bar soap so I'm not expecting to buy any at all this year. I have a few bars to use after this one. The same for the bar soap I have in the shower; and it is one with a pouf built in so I am actually reaching for it more than my Korres gel simply because of the convenience.
ORC: Still working on working on my living room boxes! Even though my ORC is taking a long, long time, I see changes happening thorughout my living space & that is good. I'm going to keep reminding myself how great it will be to finish up the room & use that to motivate me.
Clothes: A shopping I will go!
A friend & I are planning a trip to one of the HSN Outlets next week. She always finds lots of things but I rarely do. Not sure why; I always find lots of things I like at HSN online. I'm hoping her luck rubs off on me. I need a few things for summer. I also need to replace my now baggy bras and a pair or two of shoes that fit are also in my plans for April. I love my new traveltime shoes but my feet have informed me I need to wear socks if I am planning to walk so much. I am hoping my old Nike walking shoes will be comfortable enough that I don't need a new pair. I washed them & will try them later today. I need some good socks, too.
