Colors for Tarte TSV.......question/help

For those of u who have the TSV already...I have read that the fair foundation was too fair so some wished they had went up a color. I usually wear med. but sometimes in the summer it looks too light. The med is sold out on so I was thinking of getting the tan since it has rave reviews. Just hate to have to send stuff back. Appreicate any suggestions/help! Thanks
