@Swedishmiss I tried avoiding the drying alcohols (not all alcohols are drying) as part of the Curly Girl method, but I must use a hairspray, so that ship has sailed. I absolutely can't handle hair falling down in my face even if it's short. I don't know how people can wear bangs all the way down over their eyebrows. Also, my hair is damaged due to chemical processing, so I rationalize that the hair near the roots is healthy with the Raise the Root. Can't do that with the hairspray though.

@Icegoddess wrote:@GenXmuse most root lifters you just spray on your roots before you dry your hair.
Thank you!

I finally tried them today and Wow! I haven't felt this much volume and movement in years! Just might have to go out dancing tonight
Thanks @TrulyMe.
Is it scented?

@tiny 2 Both products have a slight scent. I can smell the alcohol in Raise the Root. Xtra Large has a faint coconut scent. Neither are strong or overpowering. Full disclosure here - since recovering from Covid, my sense of smell has changed (it's slowly getting better but not there yet) so I might not be the most reliable source.

@Swedishmiss I am not a fan of alcohol either but on me, so far all is good. I have blond hair (naturally brown) that I dye every 5 weeks and highlight every 3 months. I have to be really careful because I abuse my hair with chemicals and heat. In 6 months I might be singing a different tune, but for now, no additional damage.

As @Icegoddess said, just spray on roots. I section my hair so I am sure to cover my whole head.

Thank you for letting me know @Starliteshine. Maybe I will rethink giving this a try. I am always struggling to give some lift to my fine, somewhat thinning hair.

Thank you...you make a good point! Most of the damage on my hair begins mid shaft.

I was just on Sephora picking up a couple of things since it's time for my birthday gift and saw they have a travel size. I know not economical, but I like getting smaller sizes like that to try out but bigger than those tiny samples where I can't really get a good feel for if I like it or not. So, I put it in my cart.
