@SilleeMee, good morning! I am interested in taking powdered collagen. I looked back at past threads and found a thread where you mentioned the collagen you buy, but the photo was replaced with a thin, rectangular blue box with a question mark in it. Would you please let me know what collagen product this is? I am wanting it for my skin, but I have joint concerns, too.
I also want to ask you about skin care. For the last several years, I have tried numerous ways to use tretinoin without my skin becoming flaky. Even though I have normal skin (slightly dry in winter/slightly oily in summer), I am throwing in the towel. I've done every suggestion possible--from building up the amount of usage per week very slowly, to mixing it with moisturizer, to applying it to dry skin 30 minutes after washing, to different strengths...and my skin just will not tolerate it for some reason. What can I use in its place?
Is there an all-around product you can recommend that has retinol in it that will also brighten and address other concerns of aging? I've tried using products separately and know when to use them--for example--Timeless Vitamin C serum (stored correctly) in the morning and tretinoin at night. I used the Vitamin C serum religiously for over a year and could truly tell no difference in my skin, so I stopped it. I do use sunscreen. Even though my skin is no longer flaking because I haven't used tretinoin for several weeks, I can tell my skin is looking worse for wear using a simple moisturizer only.
I hope my questions are making sense. lol Any product recommendations you have or any simple routine you can suggest would be much appreciated.

Sorry for the input here, but I have had some luck. No exactly with retinol (could not see any difference) but with retinA.
Then there's skin care which for me is a MUST in order for it to look glowy and younger. All of mine is Isomers and these products work for me.
@SilleeMee will no doubt provide excellent and trustworthy suggestions.
Because my skin battles autoimmune issues, seeing any improvement for me is a huge deal.
For mine, adequate sunscreen prevents the dark spots. I use Anthelios SPF 50 and it works.
For collagen: it's Andrew lessman Marine Collsgen PEPTIDES with MSM.
I'm thinking about adding MSM capsules into my regime. Recently, I have added Celadrin cream (for my skin lesions) and celadrin capsules. Celadrin is recommended by an online naturopath (Lornahealth.com) for skin issues.
I have noticed that if I use products that are known to thin the skin...the retinols lighten more easily...but if I don't cover up (quickly) the spots will darken all over again!

I take collagen all 5 types in capsule form, I dont like powdered forms of anything that need to be added to liquids or foods. And I avoid tilipia in my marine type collagen. Just my personal thoughts. I just ordered the new double retinol formula from Nakery. Lessman marine collagen is made from tilapia, I much prefer using one with wild caught fish, not farm raised.

I have tried a number of powdered collagen's over the years and I do believe that Andrew Lessman's (HSN) is excellent. It's production is pretty amazing. I do NOT take marine collagen because of the type of fish used, but the bovine or poultry ones are very good and I take it every day. Does it work?? Who knows (hahahaa)!. I am affraid to stop because my arthritus might get worse because it IS working!! Also. My skin looks pretty amazing for my age (77) so maybe the collagen and Retin A for many years is a combo that works for me. Just give Andrew Lessman's collagen a try!

I take the one i posted above, all 5 tyoes of collagen and no tilapia in the marine one. It says to take 3 per day but I actually just take 2 per day. Find them on amazon.

BTW, if you are taking collagen for arthritis, the best one for that is UC ll collagen, in capsules, take one per day.

(a little off topic?)
The other day I took a collagen gummy AND drank a protein drink at the same time. Wow, my gut was not happy with a double dose of protein. Anyone else a little sensitive to collagen supplements?

Excuse my butt in.... just thought I'd chime in to let you know about my experience with retinA which may be helpful?
I'm fair with very sensitive, dry skin and I use and love RetnA, but I have to be careful. If I notice too much irritation I'll back off and go into recovery mode with extra TLC.
I do the sandwich method and I alternate it every other night with a night of just a heavy moisturizer to recover, eventually I hope to get to every night (with retinA)....
Sandwich Method:
*1) Moisturize (Cerave cream or similar)
*2)RetinA
*3)Another layer of cream or oil if you want
SilleeMee will know better how to help, just thought I'd chime in too
Good luck!
