'Retin-A' is the brand name for tretinoin. That's the most popular brand which people associate with tret. @AZfem

Re: Collagen Question for SilleeMee

@Shelbelle @SilleeMee

BTW, if you are taking collagen for arthritis, the best one for that is UC ll collagen, in capsules, take one per day.

I take a collagen powder that contains all five types of collagen. My main goal is joint/knee pain due to osteoarthritis. Bone mineral density and aging/sagging skin. I really think it has helped me with all three. My last Dexa scan showed some improvement in my hip. I have less joint pain in my knees also. I have good skin but trying to keep the sagging/wrinkles at bay. I just turned 70.

My question is this;

Should I forego the one I'm taking for the Undenatured ll collagen(UC ll)? Or add it in addition too? I've read that it's best for Arthritis, which I do have. I also have Ostepenia. I don't  want to lose the pain and inflammation benefits but also want the benefits for my skin! I can't seem to find information on this other than type ll is good for both. Mainly, the info I've read is for Hydrolyzed Collagen.

What do you think? Please help! Also would you please recommend  which UC ll you think is best.🤗

I would continue with the collagen you are using now, and just add the UC II , that is what I do.

UC II is pricey so I usually go with whatever reputable brand is offering the best price at the time, the standard dose is 40 mg in one cap, one cap per day, so as long as it has 40 mg I am willing to buy it. I have used Puritans Pride , Swanson and Vitacost brands. I take it for the arthriitis in my one knee.

Re: Collagen Question for SilleeMee

@Shanus

LP is Lichen planus...

It shows up in any area of the body

My scalp was where it showed first and I was diagnosed as LPP (Lichen planopilarus) a scarring alopecia when a biopsy was done.

It is a non contagious autoimmune malfunction of the skin follicles.

It also shows up on my legs, back and "other places".

Mine appears to be a mild case because I got help early ...treated with steroids.

Google used to say it is rare...but I don't believe it is rare!

@LTT1   Thank you so much for sharing this. It must be awful, annoying, but I hope not painful. Heart

Thank you. It's mostly so itchy you'd like to tear your skin off...but only rarely that bad!❤️
