Cleansing conditioner for swimmers

Would any of the cleansing conditioners work for swimmers? If so, which? Do you use the same process?

My vote would be FIG - since I assume swimming tends to dry your hair out?

Also, you might consider trying the styling creme, particularly if you blow dry a lot.

I have no idea, but I have heard Chaz say repeatedly that Joy the model swims every day and her hair still looks great. She uses the seasonals and sweet almond mint (but I don't know if she's also wearing a cap while swimming).

why wouldn't you just wash the swimsuit or rinse it out after swiming?

I am an idiot, I thought you wanted to wash yr swimsuit in Wen not yr hair, forgive me. {#emotions_dlg.blushing}

Re: Cleansing conditioner for swimmers

I used to swim every day. I don't get there every day, but I try to get to the pool often. I use Pom for my normal condition, wavy, color-treated hair. If it gets really dry, I'll use Fig or 613. Most of the time when I'm swimming, I'll do just one cleanse - instead of my normal 2. I don't blow my hair dry. If it's Friday (I don't go over the weekend), I'll do my regular two.

A wise poster here gave me great advice a few years ago. I do this every time I'm in the water. I rinse my hair and get it soaking wet before I get into the pool. I don't wear a cap, but I do wear goggles that keep it out of my eyes. I find this helps with the condition a lot. Smile

Cucumber Aloe is the most clarifying, so I use that for the first cleanse and follow up with 613 for moisture on the second cleanse.

For regular swimmers, I recommend a swimcap to help keep chlorine out of the hair. I am in a pool on average six days a week and I always wear a cap. If a wearing a swimcap is not an option then I would recommend FIG or 613.

I've heard Chaz recommend putting on some of the oils before swimming, put the swim cap on top and when you get out simply cleanse your hair as you normally would. That way you're protecting your hair from the chlorine while also treating your hair.

Try wetting your hair and putting in a pump of cc before you get in the pool. This will keep the chemicals from absorbing into your hair as much because it is already saturated with water and cc. I have heard Chaz recommend cucumber aloe for swimmers because it is the most clarifying. However, CA can be a little drying. Hope this helps.
