I know this subject has been discussed, ad nauseam, so sorry, in advance.

I'm getting my list together for skincare shopping. I've found my PTR anti-aging and La Roche-Posay Mela-D cleanser are leaving my skin rather tight and dry before I continue my routine. The Mela-D has been great at lightening a few spots, but too much for a cleanser.

I've been doing my research everywhere. Now i can't decide if an oil cleanser/rice polishing (Dr. Young's & Fleur Debi Lis, Tatcha, Josie Maran or other) would be better or the ASDM cleanser/toner or something else would be a better fit for me.

Help!

Well, I think you already know what I'm going to recommend....lol.

All you can do is decide where you want to start and then stick with that routine for a good month or so and see what you think. Don't be too quick to start something and then switch to something else too soon. Whatever you try, you need to give it a fair shot. I will suggest, though that if/when you use your oil cleanser, be done after you rinse it rather than using another soapy/foaming cleansing product after it. Whatever benefit the oil cleanser is providing to your skin is being washed away with the second type of cleanser. With consistency, your oil production and skin should normalize.

I guess I'm your disciple. Ordered the Dr. Young's Camilla Oil and the Fleur De Lis Rice & Papaya Enzyme Powder. I'm to receive the cleansing oil by Sunday. Can't wait to try! Thank you for your help!

I agree about not using a second cleanser following the use of an oil cleanser. The exception would be for those of us who use a Clarisonic (or similar device). On those days I use the oil cleanser to remove eye makeup and then follow with a creamy one (usually Purity) to use with the Clarisonic.

On the subject of oil cleansers I have been loyal to Purity's Oil Cleanser since I discovered it last year. It's really good and cleanses to that clean soft finish as regular creamy Purity does. Considering how hot oil-based skincare products are, it baffles me why the QVC marketing/sales team which determines which products are shown on air doesn't show Purity Cleansing Oil more love with constant airings.

LOL...so funny. I sure hope you like it! One thing to remember, the enzyme powder is a little gritty. Make sure you mix enough water with it.

Trix - good to know this works for you. I've not had great luck with Philosophy products. Have a bad reaction. Tried to figure out, but never to conclusion. For all I know it might be the containers.

JLF - gritty? My middle name is gritty! {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

I'm hooked on using DHC cleansing oil. I just bought the washing powder ,which reminds of me of Tatcha. Now to change things up I've been using the deep cleansing oil and then the washing powder afterward. My skin feels so smooth and refreshed but not stripped.

Interesting. I've been trying to get on the DHC website over the last few days, but it just shows an error message. Is this just my Kindle?

The website is dhcskincare.com. Maybe it's just your kindle. I don't have a problem getting on.
